Honestly that is a smart move qwq! Esp since that means giving more spoilage and love to the prioritized ones! I admittedly already have a good chunk moved to my UFS / UFT xd. I know I still have a lot more characters but I am pretty attached to them ( As I do pour out a lot of ideas onto them and use some for rps qwq ). Maybe in the future more may be cleared out? Unsure yet c.c

yea, I have a storage/trade account, and then this one to prioritize my most used. for me, just because a character's in storage doesn't mean I can't use them, it just means that they're a lower priority for art for me! and I move characters back and forth from each account as they interest me more/less. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you though!! :]

If possible, if you are ever worried about spending too much or anxious of the pricing, I could recommend starting small like getting the mini icons from Hoppang :0c! However, I do tend to notice that those sell fast! Or, if it is a custom you aim for, I'd say think of something you really would like to have before comm'ing! Since it would cost a lot and would be best to plan out what you want a new OC to be before commissioning for one nwn!
