oooh, bundy is a fascinating one. learning about him was very.. ah i hate saying fun, because obviously there isn’t anything fun about serial murders but it was interesting for sure. i’d have to say i’m most intrigued by jack the ripper mostly because it still remains unsolved and there are quite a few theories! (although not many have any merit) the zodiac is another interesting one, i like the “unsolvable” cases. although i wholeheartedly believe that arthur leigh allen was the zodiac. also, a course? are you planning on going into the criminal justice field or is it just for fun?

I'm right there with you on Jack and Zodiac! I would love to see either solved in my lifetime, similar how GSK was found after so long. I don't think it will happen, but my fingers are crossed! Especially with Zodiac where he left so much evidence and gave so many clues and nothing came out of it. My husband and I believe it's Arthur Leigh Allen as well, and in his mind he counts that as "solved," just not closed, hahaha.
For now it's for fun! Just a hobby and interest that my parents passed on to me at a young age. Though, if given the opportunity, I would jump on the chance to get into the field! And yourself?

that’s cool! did/do your parents work in the criminal justice field? or was it a hobby? i am trying to get into the k-9 unit. ideally as a handler for either a bite dog or a criminal & missing persons search dog. ideally i would like to be a profiler for the behavioral analysis unit of the fbi but that is exceptionally difficult to get into. k-9 handling is hard enough. plus, i have autism as well as a handful of other mental health issues so the chances of me actually being allowed into the police academy is slim to none. let alone actually being hired as an officer. i’m determined though!! i’ve taken two forensics courses as well as a psychology and criminology course!

It's a bitter-sweet situation, because I LOVE discussing everything, but it's so hard to bite my tongue and let others finished when I know they are wrong, haha. Or if they are trying to tell me about someone and I'm like "well actually..."
Nope, no one in my family are in any type of justice/criminology field. I was raised watching shows like Law & Order, Criminal Minds, CSI, etc. which lead to my huge fascination with the psychology of crime and serial killers. Until University I couldn't figure out the exact draw, but then I did a psychology minor which really pinpointed my interest. Working in the BAU is basically top tier dream job for sure. John Douglas is a huge role model of mine and I am so obsessed with Mindhunter, haha.
Do you think your autism or other mental illnesses could help you somewhere in the field? Maybe not necessarily as a member of K-9 unit, but you could maybe focus more on the dogs themselves and get into the training process? I don't know enough in how autism and other illnesses might affect a career in this field - I would love some insight if you don't mind educating me!
Either way the world is always changing, and hopefully in a more progressive way if we can hope. What might be a slim to none chance now can always change with enough determination and ambition!
