It could be for a huge number of reasons, but it's most likely due to some kind of user error... I would recommend making sure the link is a direct one (right click and copy image address, not just the url link, that's the big one) and I would also double-check that no part of the code (especially the parenthesis around the link) is getting deleted on accident. Also, the character image doesn't have to be the exact same size as the existing one, but it is recommended, and in this case I would ensure that it is if that's maybe causing any unforseen display issues.
I had a friend tell me what was wrong with how I was editing the code, they told me the same thing! I got it to work by following their advice ^^ ty for informing me!
