hewwo I think making your own version of watcher is okay as long as that design fits what you like and the roles you've intended to give it (that way it can bear some elements resemble the original work but still uniquely yours) ^q^ in my case I've been a big fan of surrealist artists and I wanted to make something that matches the vibe of both my fav artists and the world I'm building-
btw this is the original inpiration I used to design the critters (René Magritte's work Scheherazade)
Oh my god I love that so much. I haven't researched into Magritte as much as I wanted to. I had this textbook that my art teacher had given me in high-school that had all of Salvador Dali's work in it. As far as surrealism goes, he's far from my favorite, but it was a good introduction to the types of art im /really/ into. Like.
If you like darker subjects, an all-time favorite is Erlend Mørk. I particularly like Xiilentium and Birthmark the most.
I also like the organic feel of HR Geiger but I know that a lot of his work focuses heavily around Alien, and can be hard to get into for people who may not be into sci fi.
Ill have to think about the purpose of the watcher im thinking of drawing. Im intending them to be a companion to my weird angel, Eighel (which i can send a link to, just on mobile right now and if I so much as blink, all the text I've typed will vanish D'x)
When I draw them I will definitely show you. Hopefully it won't take me a million years to get to ;;
