It blows my mind realizing how old she is, just this second ^^;
She's gone through a lot of changes over the years but her hair/fur and eyes have pretty much been her constant ^^

(me overtalking, as usual XD feel free to skip to tl;dr) With my character, it really depends on how you look at it- i've had many "egos" as i call them, this one is closer to something else, but i still use them the same, (it's a long story, but let's just say i never had an imaginary friend, it was just a character that i used when i played, but i was acting as them myself, not acting as if someone else was there, but an extension of myself as well, if that makes sense)
SO this would be the 3rd "re-incarnation" so to speak, cause iv'e sued 3 different characters, that for some obvious reasons, "inherited" aspects of the last one, but this specific incarnation i believe started in mid-late 2019? so... one moment let me math 2 and a half years? But it honestly started probably ever sicne i can remember, so i guess you could say... a long time- XD i'm weird, i know
TL;DR: Depending on how you look at it, my oc will be turning 3 years this year, or could be turning... wel, i don't know, kinda started ever since i remember XD (i talk alot, and i'm horrible at wording and understanding people, so sorry if i say something wrong, also, sorry for typos!)

I also understand what you mean about being your character when you play pretend, I use to do the same when I way young.
Though my oldest character is older thank Kira, probably almost as old as I am if I'm honest.
I use to play stories in my head when I was going to sleep, but I was my character in the stories I told myself about them.
I also kind of know what you mean by reincarnation. Design wise Kirana started out as a wolf, then a wolf fox, and finally just a fox.
She changed with me too. When I was a kid she was childish, when I went trough my teenage goth stage she did too.
Now she's more of a late 20 year old, I don't think I could ever make her the same age as me.
She's always been either older than me or younger, but always in her 20s.

But they were still and still are technically different characters, even if you count the (horrible) idea of merging my current and last character's general storylines some, the first one still is a different character, but meh haha the funny thing is, when it comes to my own characters ages.. they aren't human, as least they didn't turn out to be completely human, ya know, that cliché stuff, so really, many of them were... uh... at least in their thousands for a large period of time, but when you bring it down to their physical or maturity if that makes sense, they were ALWAYS (the first two) older than me, but it's actually made a turn where my current one is around mine, maybe slightly older/younger, and of course, older, but it depends on the part of the storyline you're talking about- int ruth, my characters are currently a gigantic mess
Heyy- sorry for mentioning this but i've had a hard time meeting people, and i've been trying to at least try to try and make a lasting relationship with someone (by this, i mean... actually being "friends" and not trying to occasionally talk to someone in the hopes it'll spark something. Sadly i've only made one actual friend in my lfie so far, and i'm hoping to make more, any chance you ahve a discord? If not, sadly i won't realt be able to talk that much, as i don't get the same kind of "live notifications" even if i'm active on here, it's just.. not really the same I hope this doesn't come off wrong! :"3 i'm trying, i swear-
Sorry for the delay in reply, I fell asleep then have been busy.
Yeah, it's fun how characters ages work and change as we change ourselves. I did have one period of time where my main was super old, but that didn't last long. It was a short off shoot of an idea and I just didn't care for it long term. I enjoy her being youthful, but not eternal if you know what I mean.
Honestly, I'm pretty bad about being consistently online myself ^^; During the weekend I'm on a lot but I'm 75/25 on the week days.
I'm mostly off on the week days with occasional 5-10 minute visits, but sometimes I have more time than expected and can be on for hours.
I'm honestly a terrible friend because I work to much, and spend a lot of time drawing into myself when I'm stressed out.
I deal a lot with depression, so I can end up going quite because I don't want to burden others with it, but I do reply.
If that's something that would be upsetting, I'm probably not the best person to try and be friends with.
That said, I don't mind getting to know each other and maybe building a lasting relationship.
I do have a discord, and if the above doesn't bother you, you're welcome to DM me your info and I can add you.
Ah, it's alright! it happens :'3 i always have discord open (as long as i'm awake) and despite my long contact list, i haven't talked to people in forever, and i have tried now and then, but i'm always aware it mgiht not last, but i'm doing my best to see what may last and what may not X'3 just warning you i talk alot
