Well, they did. They lost the ability to do magic at all somehow(haven't planned it out yet,,). That sucked & they faked their own death out of shame/stress because they were kinda a Big Deal in the magical community & didn't wanna explain how THAT happened
Now they live in a tent in rando-ville & know some sleight of hand because that's the closest thing to magic they can do now & they're sad about it
