AH thank you oh my goodness ;o; UM! I kinda treat animals and humanoids the same way? Figure out what's going on with The Creature in terms of how it's put together. Most vertebrates are made of the same parts, they just look different. Obviously "use references", but it can also be helpful to draw what you can't see- like imagining the other parts of the body that might be obscured trains your brain to really try to interpret the anatomy 0v0!
One thing is memory tricks for proportions- like "the elbow is at the belly button" and "the torso is about 3 heads" and "hands are roughly the size of the face". (There's a bunch of them out there!) Thumbnailing poses before adding definition... and drawing the clothes on after sketching out the body frame to make sure the structure underneath is solid. o:
