Official Hiatus Announcement!

Toyhouse users who also keep up with Calyptra on other platforms may already have noticed that fewer and fewer events have been extended to TH throughout the past few months. Technically, the Toyhouse side of the species has been on hiatus pretty much all summer already.

The reason for that was a mix of different factors. For one, I was completely new to Toyhouse when I created the species, and basically dove into a very new medium with almost no prior knowledge about it. As a result, organising the TH world and thread was a challenge I eventually realised I wasn't quite as prepared for as I'd hoped. I had prior knowledge about DeviantArt and Amino, so it was easy to settle into organising my own places there, but TH is a whole different animal.
Combine with this that the interest I first felt in the forum thread where I interest checked seemed to immediately dwindle once the species was actually on the road, along with real life complications, and I had to make the call where I needed the time and energy required into making this an active community most. I eventually settled on Amino, the most active side of the the species to date, with DeviantArt at second place, and put TH on ice for the time being.

By now I feel like I'm in over my head with the way I want to have this species exist in general. I need a bigger staff, and I need to think about how to pick and reward a good and active staff for this work. I also realized that with so much still "under construction", I need to prioritize building the base framework for a lot of things now if I ever want to be able to fully focus just on running the place.

So the Calyptra species is on an official hiatus until further notice, on all platforms. This does NOT mean you can't post, interact, trade, etc. The hiatus exclusively concerns the administrative side like events, activity rewards and such. It also doesn't mean nothing will happen anymore. I'm getting more familiar with how Toyhouse works, and I am chipping away at filling all the gaps and building all the bases that need it. I can't guarantee what I want to be the standard for the species community is all.

Our larvae stage went kinda stuttery, so it's time to snuggle into a chrysalis and embrace some wait and change. Let's hope we will emerge as the beautiful butterfly/moth I know we can be! : D
