Either works! I've used both kinds of references, I normally use photos to avoid accidentally tracing (since I'm somewhat still learning how to use references), but I can certainly use drawn references too
So, to put it short, I've been slightly meaning to draw one of my characters ( https://toyhou.se/15747600.mari ) a new reference before I actually write his profile, but I'm kind of struggling to find a pose that'll show off his outfit and the like without just looking kind of weird. I would look up references on Google, but my laptop tends to freeze at the smallest provocation and I'm afraid that taking it to a page full of images or Google Images would make this old man explode like a landmine (/j)
Do you guys have any reference images that could help? I'd really appreciate it!
Even just getting to a page that won't be too heavy for my laptop but holds reference images could help
have you checked out adorkastock? they have a ton of really great reference photos! i can try and grab some simple ones later if you think your computer might not be able to handle the website
I was thinking of pages like that! Just hesitating on it because I only know them through Deviantart and I really don't know if my laptop will be able to handle DA, and also they try to do more dynamic poses while I'd ideally need a pose that shows off the outfit
I might try it though!
(also sorry if there's something I'm missing! I don't actually know how to @ or reply to people in here, I'm pretty new to the forums)
gotcha! makes sense. i browsed through theposearchives since they have slightly more casual poses and found a few ones that might be helpful!
here's their usage rules if you do end up using them!
honeydont Thank you SO much!!! I really appreciate it, these should help a fair bit!
ScarletBloodmoon I appreciate that! And yeah, I just got confused because I'm used to other websites which show you that your ping is working by showing users with the letters you're typing in their names, like Tumblr or Discord or Deviantart.
I also really appreciate the patience with me! ^^
I think JookpubStock on DeviantArt (<- link) has some great references!
herminesupercat Thank you a lot!! I'll be sure to check it out, as I'm starting to understand what my laptop can and can't handle a little better
