So last night i actually made my first ever outfit reference.... sheet... thing... for my shy girl OC, Kyoshi Potter, and was wanting some feedback on whether or not i did a good job.

Me personally, I think it's a bit basic... but im very proud of it. Though it doesnt hurt to get some secondhand opinions.73510613_P8qRTrW98O8ocGk.jpg

This is what it looks like... please be gentle... its my first time making one of these...

Hi! Everything that you have right now is great and will work just fine, but here’s some tips to make it even better:

Because this ref will likely be used by other artists, I would suggest trying to take a more clear picture. A picture from right above (so that the paper isn’t angled) and in natural light is best. In a digital platform, good pictures of traditional art are really really important. I would also suggest going into photo edit mode and adding digital color swatches so that digital artists can get the correct colors (you can literally just put a dot of the digital color next to it and it’s good. I also saw that you said that the hoodie was dark red while the picture makes it look more pink. Adding a digital swatch will help reduce any confusion)

I would also try to fill in the colored pencil a bit more. There’s quite a few white streaks which makes it look a little unpolished. Use even pressure while going in a circular motion to get good coverage without pressure lines appearing (this will help with making it look more professional)

Then if you want to take everything to the next level, I’d also include a small picture of everything put together so that it’s clear how the proportions of the outfit work (do the pants go all the way to the shoes? Is the hoodie a little oversized or is it a tight fit?) this can just be a desperate drawing in her gallery

I really enjoy when I get outfit breakdowns like this, and you are most definitely on the right track!! Keep it up, you’re doing wonderfully!

Roon thank you for this advice! honestly i made this at like 9pm last night, so i realize the quality may be a bit basic... also i was using crayons, as I dont have like the best coloring supplies as of right now. i will keep this advice in mind for next time!
