Mercenary_Ike announced in the FEH channel on Feb 1! Not sure if you've seen that yet but FEH pass is a new monthly subscription (that costs ~$10/month) which gives 5 perks to those who buy it:
- Resplendent heroes (each month, 2 heroes get a new art/+2 to all stats/new voice lines. You can switch between the old art and new art at any time. If you don't have a copy of the hero, you get a free copy along with the resplendent art according to what I've heard)
- Special quests unique to those with FEH pass, which give out valuable rewards such as grails and orbs.
- Expanded summoner support; you can now support up to 3 heroes at a time.
- Re-act: Return to the start of a previous turn if your heroes have yet to act, which would be useful for Grand Hero Battles with harder modes like Abyssal, I guess.
- Auto-Start: basically what it sounds like.
I think that's it? Basically a lot of people (including myself-) are salty because it basically seems like a P2W pass, especially for the last 3 features which should really just be included in a free QoL update. A lot of these features are free or at least don't require real life money to pay in other gacha games.
Oh wow. I'd only buy that if like they'd fix Eliwood's eyes, Lloyd's entire art and give me Anthony from fates.
Also that Summoner support sounds really nice because then I can support Leon, Anthony and Berkut all at the same time.
Honestly i feel like if they reduced the price by half and made the QoL stuff for everyone it'd have gone over better; the special quests are a better deal than orb packs even at the current price, and they come with two heroes a month. But the QoL stuff being paywalled is inexcusable.
Still, predatory monetization is the backbone of the game and genre; I'm not surprised this happened, just disappointed.
I got the pass for the costumes (WAITING FOR EPHRAIM!!!!) but yeah I don't really like how it's being treated :l it's so ham-handed. FEH usually isn't that blatant about wanting your money. Makes me wonder if there's been a management change somewhere...........
I was a bit miffed at some of the FEH Pass perks being behind a paywall, but I thought I'd be able to ignore it well enough, but having the Quest rewards show up like a "look at what you could get if you just paid" and not be able to remove it is a big gripe I have now with the pass in general. Like no thanks :/
Looks like they're fixing the FEH Pass quest issue with the next update, and even the preview divine code characters available so far have some very choice skills, including Close Counter (which to the best of my knowledge is only available on seasonal banners now that takumi's been removed from the pool).
