Sheriff and mail carrier

This was the town he watched over. He kiked to think of it as his town, like one would think of their family. He was protective over it to say the least and help or no help would be always doing everything he could to keep it safe from all things from vandalism to theft.

Of course, with the holidays so near a problem had been brought to his attention in the form of a glimmew child mentioning their concern about their gifts making it on time. The young glim had mentioned seeing another adult glim delivering packages but said they looked like they had an awefully heavy bag.

He went to the Jade Tea house. This was the best place to find others, if they werent here usually one of the shop keeps would at keast be able to point you in the right direction.

As soon as he came in a glim with a long tail, a glim by the name of Akarui greeted him.

"How can I help you today sheriff? Are you needing something or can I get you a tea? I made a new one just today using this qeird looking root I found, its rather spicy!"

 He shook his head.

"looking for the mail carrier of these parts, you know em?"

Ailill Kveek-art

This time of year was always a hard one, not just for mail carriers but also for any Glim that celebrated. There were presents to buy, sweet treats and decadent feasts to make and many, many packages and letters to send. And all on a deadline! Ailill often found themselves working longer days and carrying heavier loads. Today, for example, Ailill was wearing a bag over each shoulder to accommodate the number of parcels they were carrying. They'd also donned a red-white-and-green striped scarf for a bit of festive cheer.

It was with some relief that Ailill approached the Jade Tea house. The tea house meant a chance to take off the bags and rest a moment with a cup of tea. Not long, Ailill told themselves as they pushed open the door to the tea shop, just a little breather.

As if on cue the bells of the door rang out and the sheriff looked over to see a glim carrying a large bag of all kinds of parcels. It looked awesfully heavy was hisnfirst thought as he marvelled at how the glim could even be strong enough to hold it. Surely that was far to heavy for any one single glim.

He went right over, sliding a chair out for the glim at a table right in front of obe of the large windows overlooking glimmerglade.

"Just the glim I was hoping ta see. The names Sheriff. I was hoping I might be of some assistance with that large bag of yours. But first, a warm beverage, whatever you want is on me."

Ailill nodded politely to the approaching Glim. "Hello Sheriff, nice to meet you. I'm Ailill," they said. "Thank you for the offer, and I'll join you in just a moment," they said politely.

Leaving Sheriff at the table, Ailill made their way to the counter to pass off the mail to the proprietor and pick up any letters or packages they might have to send. Once their business was done, they exchanged a few glims for a nice nutty black tea before returning to the table Sheriff was waiting at. They knew Sheriff had offered to buy their drink, but they didn't want the Glim to feel like they had to buy Ailill's time. They were happy to talk to new Glims any time!

"Thank you for your patience," Ailill said politely, setting their mug down on the table. Once their drink was safe they removed the mail bags from their shoulders and put them on the back of their chair, one at a time. Once they had set down their burden they couldn't help but take a few moments to stretch out their shoulders and back. "What was it you wanted to talk about?" they asked, finally sitting in the chair Sheriff had pulled out for them.

He had waited paitently till she had sat in front of him. He was more than happy to wait, and he didnt get up and protest when she started to arrive with a drink in hand. His offer had been an open one, so her not taking it did not offend him, even if he wished she had if not for any other reason other than he always tried to pay for glims beverages here when he could. It was a small ppace he could do good away from his work as sheriff.

"I heard you had a lot of mail that needs delivering for the holidays. You look like you have a more than capable handle on it but even so it appears I have little to do and thusly wanted to extend to you my services if I could be of assistance some how." He told her, smiling. She seemed polite, so he prepared hinself for her to reject his offer entirely and yet he hoped she did not. Delivering mail was no easy task and everyone would surely enjoy the help and company once and a while right?

Ailill listened intently as the other Glim spoke. It might come off as overly-intense to some, but Ailill felt it was only polite to give someone one hundred percent of your attention while they were speaking to you, after all. After Sheriff had finished speaking they looked down at their paws for a moment. Their first instinct was to assure the man that they had everything under control (which they did, but that wasn't the point).

"I wouldn't mind some help," Ailill admitted with a small sting to their pride. "If you're sure you don't mind, some help carrying all of the packages would be appreciated." Ailill could also admit to themselves that this time of year was when their job could feel the most lonely, and the company would be appreciated too.

The sheriff grinned, nodding his head. He was happy that he coupd be of use, because nothing bothered him more then having nothing helpful to do. Call it a hero complex if you would, or at the very least a good work ethic, but if he wasnt a happy glim if he wasnt doing good.

"Ah yes good, good. Happy to hear that I can be of assistance then." He said drinking the last of his drink.

"Ill let you lead the way since you know the system. Ill follow you when your ready."
