This is Phineas.
Phineas is a vampire historian. He's tasked with recording the histories and family trees of vampire lineage throughout the ages. It's not exactly an exciting task, but Phineas was always interested in research and records-keeping, so he's up for the job. He's well-qualified, too; acquiring multiple degrees in the century-or-so that he's been alive has certainly helped him hone his research skills, and he does possess a natural passion for knowledge and an affinity for organization (albeit his own system).
What he is not prepared for is the interaction that this job sometimes requires. A quiet, introverted person by nature, Phineas spends most of his time perfectly happy doing his research alone, combing through dusty tomes for a long-forgotten name, tracing lineage through moth-eaten pages, etc. But occasionally, of course, he's forced to... talk. To people. To other vampires, specifically—which is not ideal for Phineas, but something he regards as a necessary evil.
This is where you come in!
Do you have a vampire oc with a particularly interesting backstory (or not) that you're looking to develop? Do you have any sort of supernatural character you have an itch to talk about? Phineas here is your man—er, vamp. What I'm proposing here is a roleplay with the prompt, "my nerd-ass glasses-wearing vampire interviews your (ostensibly much cooler) supernatural person/creature." We can do this a thousand ways, and this is, I guess, more of an interest check than a well-thought-out thread; I'd be just as happy to chat ooc about how our characters would react as I would setting anything formal up. I started this with the intention of a paragraph or chat-style roleplay, which I think the interview setup would definitely lend itself to, but any kind of interaction would be welcome, as long as we do some character building. Or just blabbing about how much we like our ocs tbh
Some quick things:
- I realize Phin's profile is a little bare right now, so I would be happy to answer any questions about him, or about my particular headcanons/worldbuilding for my breed of vampires. It's a pretty classic build (no sunlight, drink blood to survive, affected by holy symbols, Anne Rice/True Blood-style prettiness because I'm boring, etc.) with some minor tweaks, but I'm obviously not expecting you to like, rebuild your ocs, so as long as we have no glaring inconsistencies I think we'll be fine.
- On that note, for right now I'm opening this up for ocs who exist in a modern, "real-life" setting only (with the obvious exception being, of course, that vampires/werewolves/demons/etc. exist).
- Also, please don't be hurt if I turn you down; I'm a big shy nerd online and it's a lot easier to hide. I'll do my best to reply if I get any bites, of course, but I can't guarantee anything. Chances are that you and your oc are very interesting to me, but for whatever reason I'm just not feeling it, and that's okay!
