SONIC OC WORLD UP ‘N RUNNIN’!!

Basically, Metal sonic in the setting of the Sonic idw comics "Scrapnik island"

Metal has *not* been scrapped in this plot-- only getting stranded on scrapnik island due to an incident of some sort- similarly to how Tails and Sonic ended up on there in the comics, albeit we'll probably be using a different *specific* reason for how Metal gets there. Can be *with* the orange and blue duo or without- as either option is interesting to me-- and really just depends on if you want to include the two.

If we do include Sonic-- I'd prefer to roleplay a much longer version of the events of Scrapnik island- since I got a handful of extra ideas for scenes-- and even some concepts for alternative conflicts and motivations. I can go into more detail, if you're interested in hearing about it.

If it's just Metal and the scrapniks-- then I'd actually like to not include many (if any at all) of the events in the comics- and have it be more interaction based rather than plot based.

A more game inspired concept-- with this being a roleplay-ified version of a fan game idea that I'd like to one day make into reality.

Anyway, the basic idea behind it- is that my oc is meant to be the big bad of the story--- the plotline revolving around him trying to complete some sort of nefarious plan-- donning a mysterious winged cape made with a hide supposedly harvested from the rumored "Phantomine beast", the cloth having an appearance that's eerily reminiscent/similar to a certain Phantom ruby...... I haven't full planned out the story between his first attack- and the final battle-- but for this roleplays plot, that's something we can figure out together.

Though, I imagine that in the end- that your character(s) would probably win/beat him.

If you couldn't tell- this concept was designed with Sonic and his friends being the intended main protagonist group-- but this would work just fine with exclusively ocs too!

If my character *does* get defeated in the end, I imagine that either the final fight takes place on an island-- or, during the ending he gets blasted off from the sheer force of whatever the final impact is, team rocket style.

The poor guy lands on said island, cloak/wings broken and tattered-- completely stranded with no way off the in-the-middle-of-nowhere island.

Stuck with nothing much to do, besides fruitlessly attempt escape-- he eventually befriends the local wildlife- said wildlife being practically an armies worth of Chao. This island I'm describing is inspired by the chao gardens-- and is meant to a sort of natural chao garden itself, the whole place being filled with the little creatures.

I'm thinking this would be the setup to a sequel roleplay based off of the initial plotline listed here---- and I honestly could imagine it potentially going in quite afew different directions!


My first two immediate ideas/thoughts would be either whatever character that defeated my oc ends up on the very same island as him--- and most likely reluctantly help each other out in order to get off the island------ or, alternatively, a character related to the chao (kind of like how Chaos is) meets my character- the two maybe even bonding over the shared interest-- resulting in a roleplay that'd probably be alittle more character interaction focused.

But I'm sure there's plenty of other things we could use this plot setup for! If you've got any ideas of your own in mind, let me know.

A very ramble-y/bullet point esque explanation of a plot idea, incredibly sorry for the hard on the eyes formatting- but until I have a better worded explanation to give, I don't see much point or value in prettying things up--- this is another roleplay-ified game concept, if that wasn't already obvious-- so some things might need tweaking to fit a roleplay setting properly.



Anyway, about that "canon split" mentioned in the title-- while it's not a TON- the amount of canons that'll need to be at least mentioned and briefly used [and also the handful that are persistently or temporarily have to be heavily used] is still quite alot to put on one person- so, I really don't want my roleplay partners to *only* use ocs and leave me to do the heavy lifting.


How the canons are spilt and the amounts depend on what characters you're okay with and are interested in playing. The main man Sonic himself--- and Infinite- are by far the two most important and used canons in this story----- so I'd HIGHLY prefer someone else plays as at least one of them. If anyone wants to use both of them themselves, then I'd be happy to take on a majority of the other canons on my own! ^-^

As for Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow--- and the many other canon characters that could potentially be brought in---- for a big portion of this idea, they don't really need a ton of detailed focus or anything- as we got a bunch of ocs filling in the roles that they'd otherwise be serving------- but still, an even-ish split would be best in my eyes- this is meant to mostly oc focused after all, so it'd be kinda unfair for one person to have to play a ton of canons. Outside one exception, I don't really have anyone I GOTTA play as-- I could probably? write a good enough Amy and Tails (and there's afew other characters I think I could pull off)- but I'd definitely be no good as a Shadow or Knuckles ;;;

I WILL be writing as Metal Sonic though, sorry if you wanted to use him ;; but I already have a very specific interpretation of the lad that I want to use-- and I've been wanting to practice writing him without diving straight into a piece ALL about him, you know?

One last thing!-- there is one oc of mine that plays a VERY prominent role in this concept (he'll be referred to as "Rose thorned knight" in the text below)--- and probably another oc of mine that's going to pop in to give some exposition. Just thought that I'd let you know of them!--- since one of them is the "big bad" of this story- apologies for anyone who wanted to play that sort of role......--- though, we could definitely figure out how to fit more important villains in this plot, if anyone's interested!

Character and plot descriptions:

Rose Thorned Knight, mobian knight turned living suit of armor.


Homeland is situated right in the midst of monster territory- attacks are common enough that constant guarding is a *necessity* to keep the kingdom safe.


Was taught his whole life that inhuman creatures were the scum of the earth and all around awful beings, barely worth the title of "living"-- and all his life this belief has been vindicated for him.




One unfortunately fateful day marked the end of his life..- not 'literally'- but it ended the life he *knew*-- but, really, he mind as well have died...-- he sure would've preferred to.


No matter how strong- how invincible-- you believe yourself to be--- imperfection is an inevitability- and there will always be (sometime, somewhere) a crack in an otherwise immaculate performance.

Most of the time, a mistake doesn't matter-- a learning experience at worst- though more commonly, completely forgettable.

Occasionally though, a simple fumble is the catalyst for genuine change...


A patrol turns sour- an attempt to protect an endangered traveler ends with Rose Thorned Knight on deaths door.


He..- sometimes curses his previously protective nature- if he hadn't cared for the safety of that outsider, perhaps he would've led a more fulfilling life...-- maybe even a peaceful end too.



That is not what happened though...

Instead of living or dying- Rose Thorned Knight found himself trapped in something between. The outsider, grateful for being rescued (and wholly unaware of the kingdoms hatred of anything inhuman)- through.. magic perhaps(?) binds the knight's being to his own armor.

(He isn't sure how they did it- that was the first.. and *only* time he'd ever spoken to them...... He could only assume it was sorcery of some kind.)


He was supposed to die that day-- but his existence persisted in spite of it.




This, of course, did NOT do anything good for his psyche.



Tried to go back to his regular life and routine but things didn't.. work out. He was allowed to be within the kingdom- but no longer did his people love and cherish the Rose Thorned Knight for the mobian he once was.

The difference in treatment was night and day-- the newfound..- cruelty was draining but ultimately tolerable-- as for a long while, seeing his kingdom *safe* was more than enough for him.


Being *un*dead means *death* is not an option though- and with time, the kingdom eventually falls. Outliving the people he swore to protect ignites some incredibly unhealthy changes in him.





Has immense, edging on crippling, self hatred-- believes this to be entirely caused by his inhuman form- and maybe at first, it was-- but over time his ever souring personality and morals have given him more (actually.. legitimate) reasons to hate himself.



He wanders for most of his life after that, eventually coming across Infinite.





Infinite takes pity on the fool- and sees the potential for an *opportunity*--- the jackal offers to fix the Rose Thorned Knight's mess of a life- in exchange for the other's loyalty---- and said knight, being as horribly *desperate* as he is- agrees without question.


For a long while, the two work together- preparing, planning, and *searching* for a good few years.

During all that, he gets closer to Infinite-- and by the time the events of forces comes around, his view of Infinite goes well into infatuation and is bordering on love.

Infinite does not know of, and probably wouldn't requite this affection (though, if you end up writing/playing as Infinite, you're welcome to have Infinite know and feel whatever you want him to.)


Everything the knight knows regarding the Phantom Ruby have come from explanations and stories told to him by Infinite.

In this version of the game's story- Infinite does not and has not *ever* worked with Eggman-- his goals stem solely from the belief that the world would be better if he were in *charge* of it.

Also, in this RP- Infinite's inferiority/weakness complex isn't all that intertwined with his motivations-- it's still very much apart of his character- but his goals of conquering the world are more-so due to an unhealthy power trip rather than the want to be seen as strong.

While the two big bads don't actively try to announce their presence- it's hard not to notice when abunch of supposedly defeated villains pop back up all of sudden...


Sonic and co realize/discover Infinite and Rose Thorned Knight because of said villain illusions. While you could easily explain away Zavok returning to cause mayhem-- Chaos, Metal Sonic, and *especially* Shadow teaming up with two random nobodies trying to take over the world.. is...- *completely* ridiculous---- and this only serves to confuse the protagonists until they learn of the Phantom Rubies involvement.

The phantom ruby is a chaos emerald that ended up being tampered with in it's developmental stage-- a halfway formed chaos emerald was hunted/found by an outside force capable of harnessing/fusing with the gem (kind of like how Chaos did with the emeralds in Sonic adventure)-- because of the unformed gems delicate state, instead of becoming anything like the other emeralds, it deviated into what we know as the Phantom Ruby-

--still an incredibly powerful stone- but not capable of the insane feats that the Chaos Emeralds are known for.




But still- the ruby is an insanely strong force in of itself-- and Infinite plans on utilizing the rock to it's FULL potential.

Cue the real *meat* of the plot-- Sonic, the groups OCs, and whatever other characters we decide to include- all race to stop this doomsday scenario before it can truly come to fruition.


Things, of course- get worse before they get better--- I imagine there's a big showy confrontation between Infinite and the protagonists, Rose Thorned Knight DEFINITELY gets his original body back at some point (or, more like an illusion of it)-- maybe we could even include some form of Null Space...

Who knows...

I don't want to plan out any SUPER concrete- since that could easily limit the roleplayers creative freedom.



*How* things eventually come to an end..- I'm also not sure of-- I'd rather leave that unplanned up until we reach that point in the actual RP--- as I'd like something that plays off of the specific events built up throughout the roleplay.

Rose Thorned *does *NOT** like Metal at all-- his own self hatred getting reflected/projected onto Metal because of the shared inhumanity.


Sonic and co don't know that Rose Thorned Knight is a set of living armor until later on in the story--- once they do discover that though, Metal can't help but call Rose Thorned a hypocrite- Rose Thorned Knight though, isn't.. *technically* a hypocrite (at least not as big of one as Metal initially thinks), as his opinions of Metal are also how he views himself.


Granted, Rose Thorned  Knight would rather see Metal dead than see him be turned mobian- so there is some skewed discrimination/hatred going on there.
