Do we need more staff?

Okay look you guys. We've been waiting for an update to the site for a long time and very obviously staff have not been able to respond to the increasing number of tickets piling onto their plates, as well as the numerous bugs waiting to be fixed.

As someone who, with a lot of other people, have purchased premium-- I'd like to know that we're actually getting somewhere with this site and that it won't just die like many other closed access sites.

Either way, I know the admins and staff have a lot of responsibilities offline, which is why I'm suggesting now more than ever that we open applications now. The longer we wait, the harder ittle be to fix all of the rapidly piling problems, tickets, and complaints.

Volunteers or otherwise, I think it'd be a good idea to have ways of paying people to work on the site. The cleaner the code is and the more people that join, the more that would have incentive to buy premium-- making it a potential profit to continue running the site in the first place. Obviously, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes- but I know that multiple people have had the mods go dark on them because of the severe lack of staff, as well as multiple reported bugs and glitches that have yet to have been fixed.

Please, staff, if you're reading this, add to your team. We need it.

+1. I´m new to this site, but it´s a lovely community, and i´d hate to see it dissappear with the bugs never getting fixed.

I've been concerned about this for awhile now, and have put all my characters on my main account to private for the time being. I don't want to have characters stolen, or my account hacked, and have no responses to my help tickets. If nothing is done about this soon, I'm probably just going to close my account and leave, for the security of my own ocs and art.

+1. Though I didn't buy my own premium, I'd still like to know what it's going towards besides running the servers. I love Toyhouse, but seeing everything dwindle a little the way it has is really disheartening. We desperately need more staff, even if it's just a few people.

There was already a post for this that everyone agreed we needed more moderation for.

The mods made this sure for themselves and friends, I doubt they’d take on anyone that isn’t from their own circle that they can trust.

Sending a ticket apparently gets your requests answered eventually, unfortunately suggestion boards are rarely looked at. Myself and a few others have been waiting months for a response on our own suggestions + tickets with hundreds of +1.

I've been on for a couple years now. Bugs that pop up that virtually make the site unusable have popped up over the past couple months. The site keeps blinking in and out of a 522 error. Images are breaking. Nothing has been added in a while now. I had a ticket about an old bug preventing me from uploading characters 10 months ago that never got a response and was left open even after it resolved itself.

I'm... Scared, honestly. Toyhouse is one of my only ways to store characters, and I love the community. I feel like I will lose art and other sorts of love people have given my characters.

Re: tickets left open for months, apparently the admin tends to ignore them if there isn’t enough information to take immediate action. I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening with all these open tickets, but it might be for some. If more information pops up, I’d recommend adding that to the ticket and see if that’s enough to push the admin into taking action.

+1. I reported a known thief (and additionally, sexual harasser) who has multiple accounts here 6 months ago and no response to my ticket. Sucks. I also keep getting 522 errors like BugInTheWater has been too.

I am on this site less and less because if the complete lack of forum moderation and expectation that users, many of which are very young, to self moderate. That combined with the lack of updates and frequent bugs is very disheartening. I really love this site and community but it’s very free floating atm. With the user base only growing, I’ve taken to keeping a lot of characters and art on private out of concerns after hearing about tickets going unanswered or over half a year even with open/closed evidence.

I want this site to do well, but having invisible staff who don’t really have the time is making it difficult.

Definitely agreed. I can hardly code myself, let alone understand other people's programming,, But I definitely think we need more admins for managing tickets at LEAST. Then we can manage everything else,,

From what I’ve seen regarding bugs, tickets, etc. and how inactive the administration appears to be (not attacking just simply saying the comments I have seen lately by the user base speak of inactivity) imply that there may need to be more admins that are hands on, even if it’s just to handle tickets and other small things, so the coder(s) could focus more on bug fixes.

I thought from the recent status updates that there's only one person working on the site? I do think it really comes down to having people they can reliably trust, which is why I think applications would work best.

Oh god that post of mine is from 11 months ago LOL but yeah, there's only one person on the administration of Toyhou.se which is Lulu, but they've posted publicly in announcements that they will not be taking on applications until they feel ready and have the site more sturdy, I can't remember the exact post, since it's been 4-6 months at least since it was posted, but that was the jist of it.
