I wish the file size limit was a little bigger as well
It's painful having to crush down the size and deteriorate the quality just to have it in a character's gallery
I’ve been using Toyhouse for years and it’s always been 4mb. I can’t upload half the original art I have because it’s too big ;; but if I resize it I lose a lot of the quality. I’d just really love to see bigger file sizes, since most of my art and art I’ve commissioned is much larger than that.
While annoying for the free account user, I could see bigger file uploads as a perk of premium subscription.
Rendrassa I really don’t think that should be a premium feature, plenty of people have art they can’t upload because of the file restrictions, kinda silly to have to pay money to have all your art stored :/
Bigger images mean more storage space which costs a LOT of money. It being a prem-only feature is perfectly acceptable since that helps pay for all that storage needed. Toyhouse only makes money from prem-users, so if it wasn't a feature just for them and everyone could upload like 20MB files I'd imagine the difference would have to come from the admin's pocket.
4 MB is plenty of space to upload a good-sized image, but if you're having issues uploading some of your commissions try downsizing it slightly! I always create and upload a web-sized version of my commissions for toyhouse and keep the highres files for myself on my drive.
also -1 bc of what conter said, file hosting is expensive and I'm pretty sure the admin would have already increased the file limit if it wasn't... it sucks not being able to upload full quality pics but I think maybe a better feature would be to upload the larger files on a different image hosting website and be able to use the link to embed it in your character's gallery (so it appears like you've uploaded it to toyhouse but the actual image is being hosted by a different site)
-1, see what Conter said above. Not like premium is expensive either. It’s 5 bucks a month or 25 a year (The year is the better deal imo, takes A LOT off, 40%+.). If people really want extra features, the option to donate is there. I’ve heard premium users also don’t have a lot of perks rn so I’m sure they’d be happy getting more for their money’s worth. 🤷
If you wanna store full quality pictures just store them on your computer or a file hosting site.
