When I originally suggested it, the original point of the freebies thread was to pull the "Free Art Commissions!" from the Art Marketplace. It was never really intended to be a hub for begging, too. Honestly I'd just rather there be no "LF Free Art" beg threads and just have it just back to being artists offering and people find artists they like.
I personally think it would be more useful for people offering freebies and people requesting free art to have their threads in separate (sub)forums under the same category. There are too many people asking for requests in the art freebies section so I think it would help if their threads weren't under the same forum...
So, art freebies = people offering free art, and art requests = people asking for free art
Pepperly I understand where you're coming from but I could also see it as a way for artists who would like to do freebies but might not want to go through the trouble to make a new thread. I pictured that it could be like Gaiaonline for example, with the way they're able to split those two into forums. Honestly, we can't control what people post and I can't imagine there being a rule to prevent people from requesting art, so I think a better alternative would be to make another forum/subforum. If we want to talk about begging, I think creating request threads and hopping onto freebie threads aren't all that different imo.
I think in general it would work more if it was only one way with request offers, excluding people being able to request in their own thread
as the person above said, really easy free real estate for "art begging"
also for this suggestion to work well there needs to be mods that yeet threads begging for art
which, there's currently little to no mods on this site
Vallien_Fulki Yeah but ‘LF art’ threads are excessive at this point and new ones keep popping up by the minute so I think getting rid of them will take forever. That’s why I thought it would be better to just redirect them (and give them another area) to another forum / sub-forum where one could be titled art freebies and the other could be art requests? By doing so, it’ll annoy less people and anyone could avoid them unless you’re looking to draw people begging for free art.
