Hi! Some friends and I experienced a really weird bug over the last couple of days. The steps are as follows:
- I submit an artwork that I drew, with several characters on it. The artwork is added directly to one of my characters and I send character add requests to my friends A and B, who also have characters on it.
- Friend A accepts the request no problem and their character is added to the pic
- A few days later, friend B sees the uploaded pic in their inbox and submits a character add request, before noticing that I already sent one.
- Friend B notices my add request, accepts that instead, and cancels their own add request
- I log on and see a notification for "Friend B has accepted your request to add.."* etc., but I check the artwork and their character is not added. The artwork also does not appear on their character's artwork page
- We discuss this oddity in chat and decide that friend B submits another add request, they also favourite the artwork. I get a notification for the artwork fave but no character add request shows up. Friend B sends a second one with no success (friend B sees both pending requests on their end). We decide to wait until tomorrow to see if it's just the server being laggy
- Next day, friend B messages me to let me know that their character add request was accepted, BY FRIEND A. I still have no notification of any character add request.
- Friend A confirms that they received the character add request and accepted it, they also have TWO OTHER ADD REQUESTS for B's character, both cancelled
- Friend B's character has now been added to the artwork correctly
So in conclusion: I uploaded an artwork and tried to add my friend's character but their accept of the add didn't go through. They sent another request and instead of me, the artist and uploader, getting the request, the previous person to be added to the artwork got it.
Friend B is fairly certain they did not submit the add request via Friend A's character's page.
*This part may have said "Friend B had cancelled your request." I was not 100% paying attention and deleted it too fast
