"Mhmhm, mhmmmm."
The young girl spun around and sang, not paying any mind to anyone who looked at her. She was too happy to care.
As much as she loved the circus, Umeko was very excited, it was her first full day off in a week! The performer had been to and fro trying to make the performance spectacular every night, and so her parents believed she earned a day or two to herself. In such a big city, Umeko wasn't sure what places she would go to first, but she had enough time to take in the sights and go from there.
"What they say about heartland city is very true, it's beautiful and full of...Well, heart."
Unconsciously, Umeko took a alleyway for a shortcut, believing it would get her to the other shopping district faster.
The more she walked in, the smaller the noise from the city became suffocated. It made the somewhat dark and ominous alley a bit scary, but the circus performer had run into her fair share of odd places, and made sure to always come prepared. A small knife was kept in the back of her sock .
This alley wasn't so big, she could see the crowd once again come to light from the other side.
However, before Umeko could mentally plan out her shopping spree, she heard the sound of a small cry, which made her stiffen.
"What is that?" she frowned, eyes darting to find the source of the noise.
She could hear it come closer when she found the sad sobs connected to the corner of the alley wall, which connected to another alleyway she hadn't planned on taking.
Umeko initially thought it was of a wounded animal, but much to her shock it was of a girl, crying.
"Oh..." She wasn't sure what she could do to help, but she also couldn't let the young lady be here all by herself. So she approached her cautiously.
"Hey...What's wrong?"
