I actually have two characters that do not have much to them at the moment but I am infatuated with their color pallets uwu But they're a work in progress :3c
Any of ya'll got a character that has a lot of art, or maybe they just mean a lot to you. But you either can't come up with a good personality or story for them? Or maybe their "lore" is just that they're just some guy and nothing more too it.
I got Pontus here, I LOVE him! I have NO idea what to do with him tho, he doesn't even have a personality yet besides having a chill vibe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This bean, confort character, personality and stuff very defined. No lore, probs will never have any. I know the folder they are in there's some lore stuff written, but most of this folder is now just "here cause pretty masc oc"... I do need to organize my stuff lol
Buttercup is a character I'm very fond of — I'm very happy with how her design turned out, but she just doesn't have a whole lot going on for her lore-wise tbh? I just haven't really come up with much.
literally all of my ocs. i'm not a writer. they have personalities and some of them have defined relationships with each other but almost 0 lore. feloris IC because they are my favorite and i draw them a lot. prime example

cherry aura is probably one that really really could use lore or personality but I just can't think of anything
Guilty as charged with, well, almost everyone, even the characters I've designed for myself (though I've at least made sure they've got some coding on their profiles, even if I only have little more than a template ready for them). Tomomi is be a great example of this. He might as well be my mascot/sona because I use him as the character for my icon, and I even used some art of him I had made for the sole purpose to be a placeholder for a profile code I wrote a while back (his current one, in fact, which uses this placeholder art), but I don't really know what to do with this funky kitsune-themed dude, he was just the spawn of a doodle that I liked the look of and he kinda just stuck around ever since.
I do have honorable mentions in the spoiler below simply because I tend to ramble when it comes to talking about them because I simply adore them that much (also because it involves video game character design, and that's something I find absolutely interesting as well and thus, ramble about as well).
Aldebrand and Ijsbrand are also the spawn of a doodle (Aldebrand specifically, Ijsbrand was purposefully designed to be a foil character for him after deciding that what to use the former for) and don't have much going for them that I adore. I eventually decided that they'd make great video game characters and since I had someone ask me to help with the creative portion of a game (the code being worked on by the other party from the ground up), I initially figured they'd be a great fit. Given how that project is going, however, I might just end up using them for a solo project and do all new designs whenever the second party decides to take some initiative and put in their opinion as to what they want to do on the project (this makes it hard because I feel as though a collaborative project should be one that both/all parties want to work on).
Llewlyn, Agil, and Corbin also don't have much for lore, only having some characterization. Much like the above two, they were designed for a game project, this one originally being a solo project from the onset, being done in RPG Maker MV instead of making the engine from scratch like the previously mentioned project. Llew had the same design process as Tomomi and Aldebrand, starting as a doodle and I simply liked the design. Corbin was recycled from an older design, and Agil was designed as a foil for Llew, who at the time, was the only character I had planed on using for their game project (Corbin eventually acting as a sort of foil for the both of them). The only lore they at have the current moment is basically Llew and Agil are buddies and Corbin just exists, coupled with very basic personality traits. While I had updated their original designs somewhat in the past, I'm working on a redesign for their outfits because I'm starting to feel unsatisfied with their current outfits/designs (thankfully I've yet to really do sprite work for this project, so it won't set me back much). That being said, they are still very important to me, and I do adore them to bits, even to the point of me considering Llew to be a bit comfort character for me (Aldebrand also falls in this category).
Honestly, though, I admit it's a bit of an issue for me. Given I participate in a lot of design threads to help with artblock, it does make me feel bad that I haven't done much for the characters I've received from them, though I do adore them just because someone took time out of their day to design them, which automatically makes the character special to me. Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll get to it.
