if they didn’t die then the apocalypse would have started sorry king. the narrative needed you to be padding. (fate got subversive to cause their death too no winning for them)
Here's a thread for characters that are doomed by the narrative!
Doomed by the narrative is one of my favorite tropes. A character who's doomed by the narrative is doomed to die or meet an otherwise tragic fate in service of the story's plot, Where a character's tragic demise is instrumental to the plot of a story. It's different from a character simply dying or suffering- It has to happen for the plot to continue on as it does.
I have a lot of doomed characters, But I think my favorite is Theia! She was born thousands of years before the events of my headworld even take place, But her fate is absolutely instrumental for the story of Daybreak to even happen as it does. She haunts the narrative thousands of years after she's gone.
I think this guy is the most fitting to this trope from my characters? His transformation into a bio-weapon and disappearance (kidnapping?) is a starting point for the whole laboratory-related plot (with his friend as a main character). And this incident is unavoidable in any circumstances because of how his species biology works
Eclipse's world is governed by cycles, in each life in order for the cycle to continue she must kill the woman she loved. Each time this is a choice she must make, and making it is doom in itself, but eventually she'll make a different choice and thus create an end, dooming everything together with her.
