I have a bit of a guilty pleasure with OCs that involve the sea...even if I'm scared of the ocean ó_ò). So, show me some characters that involve the sea! Mermaids, anthros (scalies?), etc. Doesn't matter. I'd love to see them! And feel free to talk about their story or design. ♡

Nix: Named after the water spirit! They're also called neck and other variations, but Nix looks better suited as a name lol. I haven't gotten around to working on her bio, but she's a sea bunny slug who likes the sound of flutes and string instruments.
Océane: A mischievous sea bunny slug who loves all things shiny and considered treasure. She's a bit of a brat, but mostly because she's still a kid. Constantly annoying the sailors/fishermen around her town to take her on what she thinks is an adventure, but is really just fishing or boring cargo shipments.
Selkie: Mysterious selkie who hangs around the docks of cold towns. Seen as a sign of good luck/healthy fishing trip, but also used as a cautionary tale to children and to keep the waters clean so she won't "take" anyone. That's just a rumour, she's never been physically seen doing such things. She avoids getting too close to humans to avoid being snatched away.
Juniper Typical sailor. Enjoys fishing, but mostly assists on cargo ships. Still working on his bios, but his design kind of reminded me of a seagull so I thought a sailor would be a cute job lol
Hemlata; One of my mermen, he's goldish-orange, merman. Goldfish. A goldfish isn't a sea creature but that didn't stop me. >>;
Pisces; he's my cyclops-lion fish merman, I like him a lot. (This is his best friend Lester, owned by a friend of mine)
Dumara; Another merman but this one eats other merfolk. c:
Muireann here grew up on the ocean, spending easily as much time on her family’s boat as she did on land :0 But ultimately, she lost her boat and family at sea to a wreck in a sudden storm, of which she was the only survivor, and as a result of the trauma it caused her is now torn between longing for the ocean she used to call home and a deep-seated fear of it. As a side note, the contest for her was to choose a theme song for them - The one I chose, Amhrán na Farraige, originates from my favorite movie, an Irish animated film called Song of the Sea, about a Selkie girl and her brother. I chose it both because of its connection to the ocean, and because of its lyrical themes of being torn between two worlds.
Aside from Muireann, I have a few characters not listed on TH who also all have ties to the ocean - Namely a selkie, a merman, and a water spirit/elemental (who I envision being carried around in a bucket when on land, which is lowkey hilarious). They’re still very early concepts and likely to change, but my current vision has them loosely taking up the roles of tank, fighter/physical dps, and mage/healer, respectively.

I... actually have more ocean characters than I thought, haha. Foren is my main ocean boi. I've got some other characters of the same species as him! Rizzle is another example.
Usorai is the Goddess of Seas in my main universe! She's basically Foren's big angry mama.
Skira is a sailor who is obsessed with boats and fishing. She has a sister, Shia, who is also obsessed with boats and fishing, but uh... she's also a nasty pirate so she and Skira don't exactly see eye-to-eye on things.
Loire is from my other universe. I guess they're technically from the lake, but aye, what is a lake but a mini ocean?
Narissa is a jelly mermaid and I love her.
Amberlee is a mermaid~ Though as of late, she has taken a human form so she can walk around on land and fulfill the quest of her goddess. :3

My unnamed boyo here was a custom aesthetic design for me based off various ocean/sealife imagery I had provided, so I think he fits this quite nicely lol.
I also have a whole folder/setting that's based on a world mostly made of water, so lots of sealife here (need more chars for it, honestly)
