Skills all medicine cats must learn:
Herb identification, healing, and stealth
A Medicine Cat Apprentice will learn defensive fighting only if they take the fighting skill; a medicine cat who knows how to fight might not be trusted in their duties by other clans
Additional detective skills:
Observation, investigation, and stealth
Additional leadership skills:
Diplomacy, oration, and strategising
A leader will teach these to their deputy if their deputy does not already know them.
Optional Skills:
Advancing any other skill, agility, basic healing (for a warrior), diplomacy, fighting*, fishing, herb identification, hunting, interpreting prophecies, investigation, observation, oration, running, stalking, strategising, stealth, swimming, and tracking
Advanced fighting becomes either defensive or offensive fighting. Further advanced fighting becomes the other of these options. It is assumed that if an apprentice learned fighting twice, one was offensive fighting, one was defensive fighting. If they learned it three times, they just had an additional session to hone their skills.
At least 2 of these are needed
