World setting is pretty identical to modern day earth, only on an alien planet. (Pallet swapped earth basically) Tech is more advanced. Even smaller phones!!

Society is a slightly orwellian utopia - no common civilians are allowed into politics, unless they marry into political families.
Space travel is banned by the government despite habitable planets in the solar system, to keep control of the population.
One world bank owned by the government, tied to your civilian ID - issued at birth. All currency is digital.

Pollution, overpopulation, education, disease and illnesses are all non-issues. 99% of society is upper-middle class and fully educated.
