So this is pretty simple, someone asks for an opinion on something, it could be a person, a thing, an idea, whatever. Then the next person replies IC with what their character would say about that particular thing, then asks for an opinion on another thing. For example:
Someone: what's your opinion on cats?
I reply IC as Elliot: "They are precious babies that must be protected at all costs. If you mess with them, you mess with me. And you do NOT wanna mess with me."
And then I add a new question for the next poster: What's your opinion on pineapple pizza?
And so on and so forth!
A couple ground rules:
- Keep it SFW. Stuff pertaining to gore/violence is fine, but nothing sexual.
- Try to avoid overly polarizing real world topics ie. politics, religion, etc. We're here to have fun, not start arguments!
- Remember that a character's opinions don't necessarily reflect those of their owner.
- Try to put at least some effort into your response. Ideally pick a character who actually knows what the thing is they're being asked about.
- Asking for opinions on other characters isn't explicitly disallowed, though I believe there are other threads specifically for that. In any case, make sure that any character you ask about is fleshed out enough for someone to actually form an opinion on.
- (9/7/23) Quick edit to clarify: I see a lot of you asking for opinions IC, this is certainly allowed but it’s not a requirement! You’re welcome to ask OOC (after giving your IC opinion above of course) if you can’t think of anything your character would specifically want an opinion on.
- (9/27/23 edit): To avoid stopping up the thread, try to avoid asking about more obscure topics that not a lot of people might know about. If 24 hours have passed since the last post, it's okay to just have your character say "eh I have no idea what that is" and offer a new topic.
