đź“ť Write your character's personality my way!

Posted 7 months, 16 days ago (Edited 7 months, 16 days ago) by Draganora

So, I've always advocated for one way of writing personalities, and I wanted to see if it would work for you! No need to write anything for the person above, this is just a character building exercise. Here's the rules:

  1. You must pick 4 adjectives first that summarize their personality (at least one must be negative, and another must be positive) (NOT occupation or hobbies, I want pure character traits here! 'Creative' is fine, 'Painter' is not!)
  2. After that, either expand on each one, or describe how these traits interact with eachother.
  3. 4 adjectives minimum and maximum
  4. 2 paragraphs (5 sentences) minimum).

Example (on mobile can't spoiler right now

Ascetic, Imperious, Reserved, Obstinate

Being one of the personal guards to the leader of Ikranious, he puts off a very intimidating aura. He can be prideful and stubborn, refusing any viewpoint that isn't what he has dedicated himself to. When he puts his mind to something, he will stick to it to the bitter end, even if others present alternatives to reach the same goal. It's his way or the highway. This becomes an issue at times with his very 'wait and see' type of attitude toward things as well, constantly second guessing himself on the 'opportune moment', even in mundane everyday situations. He is patient, yet stagnant to both his own needs, and those around him. Aychival works best with reflex, where almost every moment is opportune.

Aychival can be very reclusive with the idea that he and only he alone can finish the job. A small bit of this perspective was rubbed off onto him from Ragnar, who follows the ideal that weakness shall die. Aychival is disposable if he shows that weakness, and so, he does his best to never show it in any possible way. He despises looking back on his past, seeing it as buried under the ash of the battlefield. He is an extended face of Ragnar now, in his eyes, which invents a very unique weakspot for him. Aychival can grow confused or even panicked if anyone were to attempt seeing beyond that.

The truth of the matter is he never contemplated life outside of his goal to kill Ragnar, or playing along with him. It's a part of the reason he allows it to go on for so long, as he barely remembers or knows life outside of it. Deep underneath it all, Aychival has always had a love for the finer things in life, particularly one's appearance. In fact, he designed most of his captain's uniform using this love for fashion.

BLACKBIRD batsunsetz

this seems fun :>

charasmatic, hedonistic, self-centered, wrathful

the first thing you notice about the BLACKBIRD is that he's everlastingly good at people. he makes you feel fuzzy, and special, and a little bit flustered- you can't help but go along with anything he says. his manners are everlasting, and he never seems to be the blame for anything other than minor nonsense. flaws are always pushed onto an underling, or a fellow luitenent, or his father, or the basic mechanisms of Hell. to a confused human, or a new demon, he's possibly the best guide you can get-

but then you notice exactly how much he's drinking. and, the alcohol really isnt the worst part- the BLACKBIRD, even to acquaintances, comes off as stunningly self indulgent. he has a reputation of going through men like tissues, and having plenty of other romantic encounters outside of his boyfriends*, and plenty of other sexual ones on top of that. outside of giving his body to literally anyone who asks, he's also over-the-top with his fashion and general appearance.

and, even for a pride demon, he's self-centered. not really arrogant, more entirely incapable of fully seeing outside of himself. he just doesn't think about other people, so caught up in his own pathos. he adores attention, affection, and praise, but reminding him that he isnt the only person in the world will leave him trembling. he'll take affirmation of that self-glorification from anyone, even if it's otherwise objectifying, possesive, or any other form of horrible for him-

and then, there's where you get the wrath. he'll talk endless shit about every other higher-up, and fantasize about their violent fates at his hands once he finally recieves his birthright title. and, well, most of his beloveds who are subject to hearing these rants... will also say that they're justifiable. BB's justifications are slimy and intimate and fucking passionate, any hyperbole seems entirely realistic once you hear his voice saying it. he has depths of hatred that are unreal, and his experiences seem to justify even more.

Khadyon as-Vhalakis EternalNyx

Definitely sound like fun.

Violent, Determined, Honorable, Confident

One of the most common sides people see of Khadyon is just how violent she can be. She's a ruthless bounty hunter and an officer of Intergalactic law. When people see the raw wrath of justice, she is what the civilians envision; a dangerous, but respected force to be feared and conforming to. If you've done any illegal act of note, say for instance, murder or grand larceny (like robbing a bank), she will GLADLY match the aggression showed, as to her, the more bad things you've done means higher bonuses to her paycheck, and usually the people that do these types of things typically are not willing to go to prison without a fight. She will not be violent if it is unwarranted, however, in fact being notably more considerate and overall nicer to those that do go without a fight, those that do surrender, compared to her usual targets.

Besides her violent side, a good amount of bystanders and witnesses to her acts can agree on one thing: It's that she is diligent. She has a zeal, a determination to see through to the end what she has to do, even if the risks posed for her are too great. This fire often loses itself, usurping control up and over rational thought at times, but nonetheless, if you pay her to do something, hell, if you're close enough to her and ask her to do something, you can rest assured that it WILL be done, to the best of her ability. She will see all of it through to the very end, nobody starts a film just to stop watching before the climax. She never quits when she starts something, never turns down a challenge, never goes back on her word.

Which leads us to the next part, her canny lean towards being honorable. Coming from a venerable clan, she prides herself on being respectful and honorable in everything that she does. Like her diligence, she always follows through with her word, never going back on it. Although in fights her tactics can be a bit dirtier, she will once again match what you have shown her to be; if you don't plan on playing dirty, neither will she. With all of her respects, she always supports her allies and compatriots as they would for her, and with the passing of a friend or an acquaintance, she will pay the proper penances. Despite her violent nature, she truly wishes to be a good person, to enact an era of good for all that will aid her in this dream.

Lastly, another obvious side to her, she's highly confident. She prides herself on her uncanny ability to see a shitty situation and walk out of it with a smile on her face and nary a complaint or a fear. Her pride and confidence are two of the most vital things to her, they keep her going when the chips are so far down they're underneath the floor. Sometimes, she does waver, as do we all, but she springs back up with little hiccups. Her confidence and pride allow her to be diligent in what she does, to be honorable in it's execution, and reassuring that her violent tendencies are justified when she resorts to them. She's confident that what she does is all for good, and she will keep pushing at making the galaxies just a little bit safer.

Rozy (Pitiful Rodent) LocalSnowi

Argumentative, realistic, loyal, individualistic

When you first meet Rozy, you find out just how argumentative they can be. For their whole life, the world has pushed against them. Their very birth was deemed faulty and led to them being abandoned in the very hospital they were born in. While their adoptive family in the hospital loves them very much, the godly tailed always seemed to be rearing their ugly heads around to make their life a living hell just because of what they lack. To them, it was only fair to return that same aggression in words. Scorn and screaming are the only things the godly tailed can understand after all, at least to them.

Even so, Rozy has a rather realistic outlook on life. Unless it’s a matter of the gods, which they hate wholeheartedly and will vocalize such hatred at any appropriate moment, they know things are a lot more complicated than black and white. Keeping this realistic outlook is important for their job; all godless tailed become doctors, after all. There are no certainties on the operating table, and they have to acknowledge that. The glass is neither half full nor half empty; it’s just a glass of water.

Rozy has an unwavering loyalty to their family. As mentioned previously, their birth parents had abandoned them momentarily after naming them, and thus their upbringing was in the hands of the hospital staff. They grew up surrounded by people like them who were abandoned for something they lacked, and they all cared for each other. No words can describe how much they love their family. If they could kill the gods if it meant their family could never be subjected to hatred and suffering, they would do it in a heartbeat.

Lastly, Rozy holds a rather individualistic view of their identity. To them, nobody else can dictate the way they are. The way someone is, to them, is because of how the individual responds to the environment. They have completely abandoned their birth name of Pitiful Rodent for something that resonated with them more. They hate the gods so fervently because of how so many others shape their identity around worship and gods. They aren’t some rodent to be kicked to the curb and to watch cry. They are Rozy. And nothing changes that.
