Da user Ceph-adopts had been discovered to have extremely shady business practices as well as stealing parts of other's art and tracing them. Multiple pieces of her art contain parts ripped from other artists work line by line pieced together with other parts then sold for high prices. These traced works in some cases even contain stolen patterns or photos from google images. On top of those issues, there are multiple customers who didn't receive their art.

Naschi's reference for curls was also traced. The artist was contacted and told someone that her work is not to be used in for profit work and was extremely upset.
update:
the face was also from a base that was uncredited. I am reaching out to the artist to find out if the Pay to use base was paid for.

Ceph posted a journal offering to give refunds if people contacted her. However that journal was only up for 6 short hours before she deleted the account.
Not only that but the refunds in some cases were given via goods and services. The fact she sent the money as a goods and service on paypal could put those who recieved the refund at risk of her doing a charge back. also she left no contact info for those who did need refunds after she deactivated. Some people have her paypal email but I am not sure if those people have recieved a response. We suspect she might create an alternate account to do the same things she was before. If that happens I will update the psa with new information.
Will update if anyone is able to get a hold of her through the paypal email for their refunds

It really is horrible this kind of practices and I'm horrified by these facts. Maybe later in the afternoon I can review and help with others.
it seems pretty plausible JBKirsch ! We know shes for sure traced from as-adopts too. It makes me so sad because I bought a few before I knew they were traced. :( I hope every artist can get informed. Stealing artists works and using it to trick others out of their money is so wrong

I'm sure many of Frankenstein's works are based on Naschi's drawings, I've reviewed the gallery of this great artist a bit and I've noticed that the thief only takes works that are scanned but not those that are photos, although it is likely that do with the photos...
I'm sorry to read all this is too sad. As soon as I can, I'll review the other works ;____;

....I kept seeing those deer and just thought they were mutated/crossbreed dainties wat. I am legitimately curious what happens if anyone sells adopts with the base they were selling/traced from :/
What a waste....you can see they were improving over the years and can actually draw. I hope that everyone who was drawn into this isn't financially hurt.
Milesian the artist who large parts of the hoshi base was traced from was informed. I have the same worries though since any artists who used the base had no idea bout most of this. I hope that the tracing stops... as well as the scamming. Someone went through contacting a large amount of customers and honestly it was sad seeing how many people received nothing . I hope Ceph actually learns from the PSa.
TragicDreamCollector Yeah my concern is also about others getting blame for theft if they're putting adopts under their name when using a stolen base/don't know that it was traced. People react fast and sometimes very intensely when they see their work stolen (reasonably so given so much of this type of thing happens) and I would really hate to see anyone caught in the crossfire :C This was a terrible thing to do but to drag other people into the situation by selling the stolen material as something to use as a base is kind of another level for me....you're pulling other people into this and potentially putting them in danger of being branded as thieves too.
I'm glad to hear that people have been contacted, though. I'll continue to go through artwork and look for various things that might have been traced over since I've been doing as much since I saw this PSA. This is all very sad to see...
Updates:
a few of the mods who did really care about the cs (Hoshi-fawn) are working really hard to help anyone affected as well. I believe Zombiadopts is releasing bases for anyone who might have bought ceph's base. The hoshi-mods are very sweet and are trying their best. They are absolutely appalled by Ceph's actions.

@potatesPotatoes the hoshi-fawn cs changed hands this morning to the really passionate owners who are working with me and others to try to help anyone scammed. Ceph has left the species and is no longer the owner. I'd just like to let you know that.
We have suspicions she may move accounts soon though and Im worried about that a bit.
PotatoesPotatoes The mods confronted ceph and she rather quickly gave up the server and such. I messaged them a lot about it. They've been extremely upstanding getting members to resources to get some fix for any issues. The current leader is offering their bases to anyone who purchased the traced ones. Theyve been encouraging people to get refunds if they bought from ceph too as well as giving out myo tickets to those who were scammed by the leg adopts. They made a public announcement too and plan to sever the ties from ceph completely with a relaunch with new sheet, and a new name since they don't want to be associated in anyway with ceph. They've even been helping a little since the announcement informing any concerned members if they bought goods with stolen art. They've been offering art to those affected too. Despite how much Buy bewares are very sad to make, it has been good to see the new leader really help so much.
