My experience:

- On August 8, 2022, I commissioned cupidz for a "fashion doodle" after stumbling across their old commission thread. After we worked out the details, I sent them the payment via zelle with a small tip included ($50 total, their fashion doodle options were a little cheaper than currently advertised) . They confirmed they received the payment and informed me that they'd have a sketch for me in a few days. DM Conversation - stash

- I heard nothing from them, so on September 18, 2022, I reached out to check-in. My message was read but never replied to.

- Around this time, I was dealing with other scammers and began to get nervous. I asked in the General Thread for PSAs if anyone knew if anything was going on with cupidz. After another user had pointed out they were active off-site, I contacted them on Instagram on October 12, 2022. This message went ignored, so I called my bank on October 18, 2022 but was told I missed the time-frame for a refund. I then wrote a small PSA on them on Twitter, since that had been where they were active the most recent. I checked back on Instagram on October 21st and saw I had missed a message from cupidz the day prior. Instagram DMs - stash

- On Twitter, cupidz explained the situation and offered me a refund. I told them that if they felt they couldn't finish the art, then I'd want a refund. They did not reply to that, but on October 23, 2022, they sent me actual WIPs and questions regarding my commission. They were in constant contact with me until October 25th. During this time, I felt it was a genuine mistake on their part and deleted my Twitter callout. Twitter DMs - stash

- Because they had been silent after the 25th, I asked them on November 2nd, 2022 if the latest WIP was actually the finished product. They assured me that it was still a WIP and I would receive the finished commission by the following day. I have not heard from them since. Check-in 2 - stash

- I attempted to contact cupidz on January 7, 2023 , February 3, 2023 , and lastly on March 20, 2023 after seeing they made a bulletin here on Toyhouse. Their bulletin detailed that they were quitting but would have all commissions finished by February. Obviously, that wasn't the case. Check-Ins - stash | Quitting - stash

-  I checked back on their bulletin on March 29, 2023 and saw that another user has been waiting for their commissions since December. Though their comment is public, they told me they do not wish to be involved in the PSA so I am blocking out their username. New Comment - stash

I'm moving this PSA from a bulletin so that others are aware of cupidz bad business practices and so that, if there are any other victims, they have a place to come forward and share their experience.   I was told that cupidz does advertise their commissions in artist discords, so please be wary of them. Update April 5, 2023 

Cupidz replied to the comment I left on their quitting bulletin, linking me to a discord where they will be posting owed commissions. They've left an explanation for what's happened as well. My commission has been completed, though I had to join the discord to get access to it. According to the other commissioner mentioned previously, cupidz did reach out privately to them. It looks like they're sending out their owed art. For me, this is resolved. For the other commissioner(s), I can't say. While I truly don't believe cupidz had any ill-intent and this was just a case of biting off more than they could chew, I am leaving this PSA up as a warning for others.
