update 9.30 because of the update, i have decided to change the title of this post from "service review" to a beware. this decision has been made because of new information and proof by other parties that will be expanded upon and linked below. this is not an update on my personal experience with seucwi, rather to bring to light two individuals who have come forward in the comments of this thread with their own experiences. firstly, ceginus's situation with seucwi where seucwi has owed ceginus a custom design since 2020, and has yet to receive any WIPs. this was via a trade back in 2020. secondly, MiniMilkshake1001's experience with seucwi stems back to 2018, where MiniMilkshake1001 won a raffle that had been posted on Seucwi's dA page back in early 2018 — at the time, under the name "SERA-P". this raffle has since seemingly been deleted from the dA page, and while there was no money or trade agreement involved, it's still another instance of seuwci ghosting on promises. hello. i don't really know how to go about this so i apologize if anything is hard to understand or unorganized. i've tried to include every bit of information, but if there is something that isn't clearly stated or hard to understand, i would be more than willing to elaborate or provide more context / information if i can. all in all i guess this is a service review? i'm not sure — make your own opinions on if it's just a review or a PSA or a beware. godspeed reading all of this, soldier.
about two years ago ( aug 2021, specifically ) i AB'd a design by seucwi — specifically, the first auction adopt of the frankenhound wine set. auction had a sb of 85usd, an AB of700usd, and two tiers of rewards at 300usd and 500usd. you can see a PDF preview file of the entire dA webpage here and a screenshot of my comment deciding to AB the design, and seucwi's response to it. this specifically took place on august 18th, 2021 - at this time i was very new to the adopt community, i had just gotten into it earlier that year, and made my TH account in feb of 2021. being very new to adopts and even commissioning art, at the time i didn't know about the service review forums.
after my AB comment, i sent a note through dA with my email for the invoice. you can see the screenshot of the full conversation here. tldr; i asked what the tiers were for, because the rewards weren't posted anywhere. seucwi says the plan was to do a drawing but didnt know what, and said that if i want one that'd be fine. ofc i said okay. i received the files for the design & original chibi artwork after i paid, and thanked seucwi. i paid the very same day i ab'd the pinor noir adopt, in full, the link includes proof, with personal information blacked out for privacy. same day, seucwi messages me the traits for the frankenhound through discord.
below i will give both a basic rundown of the interaction on discord in text and supply screenshots in the spoilers, so this doesn't get too long.
you will also see that i did include messages from the previous screenshot in the following ones, so you know that i'm not cropping anything out.
our conversation on discord goes as such,
screenshot one — receiving trait information, and then i message seucwi on 02/18/2022 about the tier rewards, asking if seucwi had decided on what to do for them. that is the very next time i talked with seucwi after 08/18/2021.
screenshot two — as you can see on the bottom of the first & top of this one, seucwi originally offers a bust portrait — at this point, i've been in this community a year and a single bust portrait with two tiers sounds strange to me, so i ask for a bust & full body. seucwi agrees, asks what style i'd like. i ask what's offered, and we choose painted. then silence from seuwci. HOWEVER — i can't quite remember when exactly it was that seucwi was going through some personal problems ( this was posted in the frankenhound server as an announcement ) so i didn't really mind too much. i understood the situation that was told to everyone in the FH server, so i didn't bother for like a year until i saw seucwi being active in it again. on 01/26/2023 i message seucwi again. no answer. again, 06/03/2023 i message seucwi again and get a response after two minutes.
screenshot three — mostly reminding seuwci of the character and thanking seucwi, saying i'm excited to see them. just a few days later, on 06/12/2023 i get a sketchy bust WIP. admittedly, i do not respond to it except for a heart — idk why exactly, maybe i was working? but anyway. nothing after that, so i ask again on 07/24/2023 if there are any updates.
screenshot four through eight — this is where things really Happen. i ask if we can have a talk about the adopt. at this point, it has been nearly two years since i bought the design, which again was 700usd, and all i had to show for it was an extremely sketchy bust and nothing else for a little over a month after that. even before this, i had already planned to rehome the character all together — i fell out of love with the design, completely, because of the long wait, and there was just this anxious part in the back of my head that kept saying that i'd just never get the extra art. i'll let you all read the messages for yourself. at the time of having this conversation, i was also talking with some friends and third parties for advice, or just to vent my frustrations (to my friends).
i would like to jump in here real quick — sorry — but i must reiterate here as well that the reason why i did the tiers was because of the extra art that was advertised,
i wouldn't have AB'd him or gone up so high if they had not been there. they were an incentive & a promise, not charity.
again, cutting in. a lot of people have pointed out to me that there was some guilt tripping in the conversation i had with seucwi.
admittedly, i had planned to post this whole ordeal much much sooner than this, but chose not to because i felt bad, and i was worried i would put seucwi in a worse financial situation. so i guess it worked.
there were also a lot of statements that stood out to me during this —
"i didn't know what i could or couldn't handle at the moment but still gave you the option of choosing art from me" and when i pressed that topic, the reason i get is "it's honestly because i love to give too much".
again, yes, there was a time where seucwi was on a hiatus. as i stated, i understood then and still do now. at this point, i just give up and ask for extra art as compensation.
we settle on two sketch pages, because seucwi says its something "i can complete in a short amount of time."
screenshot nine — 08/01/2023 someone shows interest in the FH and i ask for an update as well as an ETA. seucwi says "by the end of this month" ( end of august. ) i wait until 08/30/2023 before messaging seucwi again asking for any updates. seucwi says yes, just got back from vacation, wants to get settled. i don't respond, i'm emotionally tired at this point, and a few days pass. i message on 09/03/2023 when i have the energy to.
screenshot ten — wouldnt you know! i get left without a response on sept 3rd. so i message two days later, 09/05/2023 asking for updates. nothing, again.... which brings us to when i began to take the screenshots, 09/14/2023. i remind seucwi that it's two weeks past the deadline that seucwi set.... and seucwi says that it was from vacation to a family reunion. i'm.. kind of confused, because i thought seucwi had gone home, but its not like i need to know exactly what was going on. i just want updates to know it's being worked on, or that the deadline needs extension.
screenshot eleven and twelve — i want to preface this knowing that i was an asshole here, and i had no business to say what i did and it was an extremely out of pocket comment. at this point, i was tired, i was irritated, i was aggravated and EVERYTHING in between. i let my anger get the better of me and said something out of line for the first time ( at least, i think? ) during this whole ordeal. yes, i know i was a dick. the conversation gets somewhat heated, and seucwi literally threatens to not finish what's owed to me.
"it's not a threat" but literally says "unless you wish for me to make sure i get any artowrk for you done"....
as if it hasn't been two years by this point and radio silence, and this is a paid service. so i give up. i don't respond - there's no point.
seucwi comes back to "apologize" ... but doesn't, really?
screenshot thirteen — new ETA is september 25th. on sep25th i get the artwork and i stare at it for a minute. and i'm just like, you know what? i'm tired, i'm done, i don't want to deal with this anymore — so i simply don't. i say thank you and that's that. i download the files from discord, i upload them to TH. i could have said something about how the two sketch pages were meant to be "compensation" for the long wait, but i'm genuinely so tired. like i literally felt so emotionally drained that i went to sleep two hours after this.
at the end of it all, yes ... i got the artwork for an adopt that i paid 700usd for over two years ago. i'm not going to tell you not to buy from seucwi or participate in the frankenhound species — this is my personal experience, and all i will say is that if you do commission seucwi, to be on top of wanting updates. i don't think the client should have to run after the artist every time for an update ( yes, seucwi came to me a few times with WIPs, but i noticed a trend where it would be a few days after our last conversation, and then radio silence again with nothing. ) i don't think clients need to know every single thing an artist is doing, but major updates should be a given — if you're going on vacation, if you have tests to study for, if literally there is ANYTHING that is going to make you push back your deadline, the client should know that, at the very least. and, from what i could find while investigating to see if i'm the only person that's had something like this happen with seucwi — this isn't a one time thing, this isn't an isolated event.
this is repeated behavior from seucwi. that link will take you to the "general thread for psas" that my friend found, with a conversation surrounding seucwi was taking place, and seucwi's responses. ( and if you're wondering, the trello hasn't been touched since 2021. )
in conclusion..... i wish i knew about the service review forum before. i wish i had looked up anything that would give me even the slightest clue about what would end up going on. i wish i didn't buy this character.
i've worked with a lot of artists, a lot of adopt designers that offer extra rewards based on bids / tiers / ab's. this is, by far, the most draining experience i've had.

700 and you haven’t gotten everything for the adopt holy fuck that’s downright vile on that person’s part- you should be priority on this person’s queue if you spent that much money on an adopt and extra content

ceginus 2020 and nothing at all?? thats horrible, i'm so sorry ; o; with a trade it definitely is tricky... the only compensation i can think of is another design or more artwork, but you haven't even received anything its hard to figure out when you'll get it ... i'd say keep pressing seucwi - ask her for whatever she had done before, since "i'd have to start all over" kind of implies there was something there, you know? cause at least then you'd know it was being worked on at some point ..

ceginus i hope things get sorted out and you receive what you're owed! ;; it's very unprofessional on seucwi's part, it shouldn't be on the client to track down an artist for what they're owed. doesn't matter if you're paying monetary or trade, it's still a service you both agreed on and her side should be finished in a timely manner ...
aaa thank you♥ honestly i'm not sure what "resolved" would look like for me, but like i said i'm just sort of over it, at this point. i'd rather be done with it, post this to spread awareness and possibly help people in similar situations.

You were not rude to them at all in my eyes, by the way, you saying you made an “out of pocket comment” was just you stating that you needed the work done and stepping up. That was the right thing to do. I mean, you waited for 2 years! You have the patience of a saint! You didn’t deserve to have to put up with this and I’m so sorry for your bad experience :(
Seeing as others in the comments have similar experiences, maybe we can gather enough evidence to show the admins of DA or something. This shouldn’t be continuing, I don’t want more people to get scammed out of their money’s worth.
Andrew_Artz i think it would be definitely possible to do that. there's been a lot more than i initially anticipated, honestly, since i didn't see much talk about seucwi — besides the few posts in the general thread that i linked, which my friend had found the day i was typing it all up, lol. other than that, the only other thing that i had heard about was some concerning information about an artist for FH, but that isn't something i really have like .. tangible proof of? the comment i made about not being able to fully trust seucwi's inability to refund me is still something i'm embarrassed over, and i do think it was a bit out of pocket for me to comment on someone's financial situation when i have no context or knowledge of said person ... but even if it was i don't think it's something to threaten refusal to complete what's owed to me. but still — thank you :)
minky even if its "not a lot" it's still something that you were never given after coming to an agreement with seucwi and should still be treated seriously, imo. i'm sorry ; o;
I've seen various bad things about seucwi over the years and I know my experience pales in comparison since it would've been free, but I guess it doesn't hurt to share it.
I won a raffle from her back in 2018 that she seems to have completely deleted from her profile. After the initial messages, she never wound up doing it despite her saying in your screenshots she loves to give too much. I waited almost a year and messaged her if she still planned on doing it and she never replied which was even more upsetting than being told she wasn't going to. This was when she first joined dA if it helps put anything into perspective idk.
This was a lot of "fun" going back to find because searching notes is broken
it's disgusting to see her mentality towards the rewards she put and trying to twist out of having to make good on them. glad you got something in the end at least and hope you have a good day!

I don't mind the ping or being added to the thread. I'm glad that it's helped paint more of a picture of Seucwi's character even over 5 years and her apparent attitude towards what she perceives as being "free work".
There was another winner of the raffle iirc, maybe even 2 more, since I vividly remember the image of examples being used to promote the raffle was her old commission sheet and I think each winner could pick one of the three options (I know that I definitely wasn't the only winner though, since I mentioned it in my note). I never would've thought to message about if Seucwi did the art for them. For obvious reasons I doubt it, but because I can't find it I don't think I'll ever know who else won.
