MarzGhoul: Ghosting/Stole My $

After cooling down about this and traded my wolf partial, I'll be updating this to bring awareness to Marzghoul. I will be reformatting this main post in the next few days. The original post will be placed in a spoiler tag.

IF you are in refund window or paid via credit, I recommend filing a chargeback ASAP. Artist is ghosting other customers via Instagram and DA, not just me. I will be keeping an eye out to see if they rebranded as well on a new account.

6/17/24 Well i was very busy with college and still nothing from the artist. I assume nothing will come out of this and the artist stole 160 bucks from me at this point. They removed me off their queue and have ignored my messages on instagram. Thanks dude, you have ruined this character for me and now officially soiled them by this bad experience. And yes theyre ignoring me, it shows theyve been active on insta yesterday very messaging...i will be posting on artistbeware and twitter about them at this point. I just want my money back

Currently artist is ignoring me on instagram despite me commenting letting them know i dmed them on a recent ych posting. I will keep bumping this until it is resolved

Initial post with updates:
Commissioned them back on September 4th 2023 paying $160 for two ref sheets (anthro and feral) of Auriel https://toyhou.se/20088091.auriel

Saw in their TOS that queue is roughly 3 months which I was ok with.

Last thing I heard from them was a TMI message about an accident back in October and I haven't heard from them since.

They have a new updated queue which I wasn't told about which I'm on, but haven't heard anything. It's been 6 months and I'm already finishing my 2nd quarter of college with no reply to my message asking about the queue and I left a comment as well a few days ago.

Has anyone that has commissioned this artist heard anything from them at all? Their queue still states roughly 3 months and I've never received any wips and it seemed like I was supposed to a long time ago.

3/24 - Update: No response via instagram or toyhouse still (message still shows as unread). I'd be cautious commissioning this person as their queue goes way beyond the 3 months they state in their TOS they try to keep it under and keep posting more ych slots on various sites.

3/28/23: Update
MarzGhoul is actively ignoring my messages and another user is also being ignored in regards to an art trade. Paypal refused to open a dispute, but thankfully I paid via paypal credit so I was able to open a dispute that way (seems paypal will outright refuse to open any dispute if it's not on credit past the date). This artist has a huge backlog, doesn't communicate, and continuously post new ych slots via Deviantart and Instagram.
Thread title has also been updated to reflect the situation better now that I know the user is ghosting commissioners and art trades.

Update 5/6/23
My paypal credit claim got denied a week ago and only found out via an email :v contacted the artist again, since I haven't heard anything from them since the last post.

Artist is ignoring me on insta :/ I got to open another dispute. First one was denied due to no evidence, but I wasn't told to send in any. Will be sending in stuff now.

Looks like they posted 2 days ago on Insta! Have you tried reaching out on there by any chance? :o

Edit: Also from 2 days ago on DA https://www.deviantart.com/marzghoul/art/YCH-97-open-25-1032364050 It's the same YCH from their Instagram post but with being this active on other socials I can only hope that maybe they're just forgetful about checking Toyhouse and not ghosting you TwT Also it looks like they've been accepting new comms since one of the ones from 2024 is from this month so I would implore you to send them a message on any other social media especially since your window for a refund is closed/close to closing :(

Vossed I've seen they're actively posting ychs on bluesky too, so I'll try and contact them there. was trying to give them some time to at least respond here first before I message them elsewhere since this is where I initially commissioned them (they were the one who had contacted me on my forum post looking for the ref sheet of auriel so I'm pretty sad overall about this). Their last logged in shown on here was 7ish hours ago :c
Also my window is already closed it seems for any sort of refund :c

I feel you on wanting to give them more time but 6 months with no WIP and the fact that they're actively taking on more comms is imo a very good reason to be more pushy so to speak. $160 is a LOT of money especially now with your window being closed, I wouldn't give them the opportunity to ghost you more and more considering they clearly have access to their social medias including TH which means they have no reason to at the very least not reply to you

Vossed Yeah you're right it's been way too long without anything, so I went ahead and contacted them on insta. I'll update the mainpost if I get a reply. I rarely ever spend this much money on a commission, but I got auriel for my birthday and the ref sheets were a bday gift to myself so it stings a lot x-x

oops forgot to say thank you for replying and finding out the info about the feb coms from last year. I didn't even notice there were year old commissions :c

You're welcome! It's so unfortunate to be in a situation like this so I understand why you waited so long but you paid for a service and deserve to get a response! <3 I hope you can get the art or your money back (also Auriel is such a lovely design omg!)

I've been waiting on a trade from them since Oct. 4th 2023, despite telling me it'd only take days to get a sketch back. Got the same accident message on Nov 3rd 2023. Messaged again March 14th 2024, hasn't been read :<

Bump! Any updates OP? :o I saw on their Trello board that they added another commission to their 2024 queue on March 20th so they're still actively taking on comms

i dont mind being pinged!

they have not read my DM at all, it still shows as unread. i do show up on the queue under "non commission queue".

i didn't give them the characters yet, but this is still really disappointing :/
