Artfight: Pythia

In December of last year I opened an art trade thread and Pythia posted asking to trade for busts or chibis. I gave people the option of who they would like to draw and provided links to said characters. At the time I was delighted with the idea of getting a matching bust set for the twins my friend rps with me.  We agreed I would do a full coloured chibi for her drawing two busts, made using one base.  This can be seen below:

I finished my half of the trade as can be seen here, uploaded in my stash with the original upload date.  I unfortunately deleted my initial correspondence sending them the art as I didn't think there would be a problem.  I didn't hear from them for some time and they weren't active on toyhouse when I checked their login time, so I wasn't overly worried.  I assumed life had crept up on them and they were busy.  It's a usual time for exams and I'm a firm believer in life coming first.  Part way through January I sent her a note which showed up as read, but received no reply.  This bothered me as I had finished my piece and it seemed polite to at least acknowledge the sent note.  I left it for almost one week before noting her again.  She once again disappeared and I assumed life must have come up and so I waited.

By March I was fairly annoyed.  She had been logging in and had posted other art of her characters, but didn't give any hint of acknowledgment.  I made it clear if no reply was given I would assume it was not longer wanted and would tweek the design into something new and trade them.

It's been some time until I've been able to act as I've been scrambling with RL issues as well as keeping up with trades with others and commissions.

Since then they have traded the character.

This isn't a callout, I just want people to be aware and possibly wary if doing trades with this person.  This isn't such a bad loss, but it was still time spent that could have been spent on my own work.

[EDIT JULY 1 2018]

Pythia has now changed accounts and is under the account name AuroraCelest.  I've been informed that they are still shirking their claims, though they have uploaded their characters on art fight.

[EDIT JULY 16 2018]

PaperTsubaki has been kind enough to provide a list of art forum threads that this user owes art on.  It can be viewed in the comments section here.

Currently AuroraCelest has been banned from the forums so this will put an end to them claiming any new threads or scamming any more people for the time being on Toyhouse.  It remains to be seen if they will finally do some of the art they owe.

[EDIT AUG 24 2018]

Once again they have apparently account hopped.  They also seem to have another account on DA that they have used to purchase adopts.

Hetchia

I'm not one of the victims, but I've seen things.

I saw that he was very active on gaiaonline of the name of Kanzein. (proof look at his ocs. )

and I saw that he made a commission topic, a auction topic and a freebie topic. and it was made very very recently.

at least I'm sad for all the victims of him I really hope he's still considering but with all the topic and made recently ooff :<.

I think in my humble opinion that he's a little obsessed to get art. considering his deviantart account with all adopts in there, his posts to get freebies and money from gaia and art trade...

Nord

They claimed on my thread too and never ever did their claim, not even when I wrote them.
I was glad to see them forum banned tbh and I am not quite happy to see them back ;;

This is such a shitty behaviour tbh? Why are some people like that

SquidsInTheAttic

PaperTsubaki  Thanks for the added info~  I don't doubt it is them, but I'm erring on the side of caution.  I'll try and keep an eye on this, and if anyone has any other info please keep us all updated.

Pepperly

As a note, they did do a claim and also completed a fill here and here and I have AuroraCeleste IP-banned on that account, so it's either not them or they're at a new school or some other place and don't have the same IPs :x

Edit: I think they're getting around IP bans. this and this/this and this entire sta.sh have the exact same art habits, the way the hair is shaded, the massive space between the eyes, and the line-arts are all big tells.

PaperTsubaki
I didn't notice, but did you try banning capsaicinoid and seeing if you can see posts by Pepperly at all? I'm wondering if IP banning works as I understood it to...

I agree that it's probably her, but I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt that as long as she continues to fill claims that she can continue playing, until it's confirmed that it's her by an admin.

Taiyaki

Ah, dang. I let N3M3S1S participate in my art game. The art isn't due until the end of September but I'll let you know if it ever gets done or not.

LunaticTimekeeper

I really didn't want to have to post here - but the situation isn't improving and they're making it worse by constantly switching accounts when caught instead of just owning up to it. A while back I commissioned them for off base art - 55.42USD and have yet to receive art other than a single wips from a few weeks ago. After that it's been radio silence no matter how many times or where I contact them. I was doing business with AuoraCeleste, and they seemed very kind. I've since reported on PayPal and I'm waiting for it to be reviewed. They are ignoring my messages, and I'm not expecting to get the art anytime soon either due to this psa and the proof provided.
