What are Shengxiao?
- 十二生肖 is pronounced Shí Èr Shēng Xiào, the Species name is shortened to《生肖》ShēngXiào.
- Shengxiao are a closed species heavily based on the concept of the 12 Chinese Zodiac.
What are the Chinese Zodiac?
- Chinese Zodiac refers to the canonical Chinese horoscope and the 12 zodiac animals it comprises.
- The canonical horoscope system follows a 12-year cycle where each year is represented by an animal in the Chinese Zodiac.
- The Chinese Zodiac animals follow the order of → Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig
Shengxiao Species
- Humanoid (main) + Feral elements + Shapeshifting
- Each Shengxiao character can shift between 3 forms in total.
- More information details on each form and the corresponding traits in the Toyhouse World!
Shengxiao Lore / World Setting
- Much of the Shengxiao lore is heavily based on the Chinese Zodiac and Chinese mythology.
- Planning to add some lunar elements to it based on other Chinese myths too~
- Overall world setting and concept quite detailed + still working on it and will need to sketch out a few sheets + references.
- Will take a bit of time to get the whole concept out. Feel free to join the world to keep up with developments or chat in the meantime though!
十二生肖 Development Stage
Currently in development process, and we have a World up and running for those interested!
- Please refer to rules below on how to join the world!
- Don't want to post all the details until the species is completed, but anyone is welcome to join the world to keep up with updates!
Joining the world now at the species creation stage will also currently grant youone MYO slot.- Do note that as of May 20th 2019, the free MYO slots have reached the cap amount (90 MYO slots), no more free MYO slots will be given out for joining the world.
- It's still alright to join the world just to keep up with developments though, just that all free MYO slots for this event have been reserved and no further ones will be distributed. Requirements for joining the world are still the same as previously.
How to join the Shengxiao World?
If you'd like an invitation to the world, here's the requirements:
- Make a post here stating you want to join.
- Make a bulletin linking back to the thread and say you'll be joining the world to read on the developments (can delete the bulletin afterwards).
Do indicate if you’d like to claim your MYO slot as well!(free MYOs all claimed, capped at 90!)
You can also just indicate interest in comments here, but the bulletin is required to join the world.

So I may be interested but I am unsure of a lot of this so I'm just gonna ask.
-What is a MYO?
-Will I have any particular restrictions on characters I make for this given the closed species thing?
-Do we need to claim a zodiac sign as well?
-Are there any particular obligations in joining this world?

Umbramatic Hello! No worries! Gonna answer as best I can:
- Shengxiao is considered a Closed Species, so most Closed Species terms and rules will apply to Shengxiao characters as well
- ShengXiao Terms of Service (all species created by me follow the current same TOS) can be found here!
- it's generally similar to other CS / artists' TOS, but may undergo future ammendments where additional terms are added / edited
- also yes @ restrictions (profit wise): basically characters made under Shengxiao CS are not for commercial use and profits cannot be made off the characters / slots
- also with Closed Species (and Open Species, all Species): characters of the species have traits that classify them as part of the species, so there is a certain "design format" to follow
- MYO is a Closed Species feature, it means you can "make-your-own" character based off the traits allowed if you have a slot!
- Closed Species MYO means you cannot make one unless you have been given or bought a slot, that's what is meant by the term "closed"
- character-development wise though, outside of species design traits that should be followed, you can choose to follow the Shengxiao Lore or develop the character outside the world
- also yes @ Zodiac sign, every Shengxiao character is related to one of the Zodiac animals so you'll need to pick one!
- not sure what you mean by obligations, but to join the world the instructions are in the OP of this thread, and if you want to rp inside the world, there are worldbuilding settings to "follow" in a sense
Hope that answers your queries! If you're worried or unsure you can also choose to join the World after it's officially open, but MYO's might not be available then. 🐶✨
Okay that makes sense. By "obligations" I meant "is there any set amount of RPing time or whatever I need to do in this world or can I just dick around as long as i follow the rules"

Umbramatic Oh! Do you mean like ARPG Closed Species?
Currently it's not really an ARPG, at most we'll have events offering MYO slots etc. for prizes but they're not compulsory to join!
You can just chill and rp at your own pace in the world if you'd like (as long as the worldbuilding setting are followed etc.). No stress!
Some events may follow a "storyline" but just because you didn't participate in one, won't prevent you from participating in the next. That being said, I haven't gotten to the actual events development yet, you're free to view the world WIPs in the forum though!
