I think an cool suggestion for the species since they seem to insect traits (please correct me if I'm wrong) is some could have the patterns of eyes on there wings back. This trait is from butterflies which some species have fake eyes on there wings.

Another is they could have bones coming from there back like spider legs. (Not exactly an insect but I think it would be cool)
