Skepsels are small intelligent creatures that love food of all sorts! They are closed species but there are ways to earn and egg of your own!
As you can see, they have no eyes and instead have sensory pits on the top of their face that detect infrared. They also have small whiskers, and a great sense of hearing to aid in moving around.
The personality is somewhere between a very intelligent dog and raccoon.
They come in all sorts of colors with many different kinds of markings! It really depends on what they have eaten! This fella above loves cherries. Black cherries if he has a choice.
They reside in caves, forests, and cool places. Since their primary sensory is infrared they rely on cool areas to detect other creatures easily. When in warmer climates they will feel around with their nose, hands, horns, and whiskers.
When born they are can be any shade from white, to grey, to black while the mouth is usually a solid or gradient color. Their mouth and legs stay the same shade for their entire life.
Their coat changes until they are full grown then will remain the same color and markings for the rest of their life. The mask, tail, and claws can change color with time based on what they consume. Things such as mushrooms that could be considered poisonous or harmful to most creatures are easily consumed and digested by Skepsels. This also includes rocks and gems.

Ā I'll be opening an event to make your own Skepsel or acquire an egg to make your own for later!
This event will be open starting from this post for one full month. Since many of us live in different time zones please refer to this post for a date and time! (posted 13th of June)
So first, some rules:
A Skepsel or egg created in this event is user bound. You may not gift, trade, or sell it.
You may choose only the common horn type unless you buy an add-on or win one.
If you win an uncommon or rare trait or mutation you may save it for later.
What to choose, Skepsel or egg?
Essentially they are the same thing. The benefits of the egg is that you can design at a later date or attach a trait/mutation before it is hatched. It is hatched either when you design your own.
Okay, okay, all done so now for how to get your own! Just answer these simple questions:

StellarSquirrel Either is fine! I opened the Discord for quick communication and questions as well as gathering any information in one spot. They are still being fully fleshed out but eventually there will be other spots where everything is set in stone.
Okay then! Here's my entry, then
- I'm doing alright! I'm a bit stressed out, though.
- I'd prefer getting an egg since most of the time with species like these I'm always worried I'll do something wrong when designing one.
- I don't think I really have a preference for that.
- Perhaps larger paws or more aquatic traits (like gills or pale skin for a cave variant or something)?
- Do skepsels live in groups or on their own?
How are you today? I'm super tired, mostly because I'm taking a lot of summer courses. But, I think I'm satisfied and happy for the time being!^^

They do live in small groups usually when they have a steady food supply. They prefer to find someone or something to take care of them and give them free food if they can!

I have plans for something like that later on! One thing I would really like to see is moss growing out of them or even taking on the texture of the food they eat.
