Make a custom, request a custom! 🎁✨

I've been looking for a thread like this! Design a surprise custom for the person above. But first, read the rules below!!

 • First, post a claim! It must be for the person directly above. Your comment can initially say just "claim" to get a spot, but be sure to edit it as instructed below within a half hour or so at the most.

 • In your post: List a species and a theme. You may have multiple options for each, but leave it open-ended for creativity and list no further instructions.* Of course it is okay to include what you would not be comfortable with in the character you get (triggers, phobias, stuff you just really don't like, etc.) *As of 12/20/23, you can now be more descriptive about what you want, because that's what people have been doing and seem to like. Just don't go into so much detail as to describe a specific design you're already imagining, or attach drawings/concept images of a specific design you want. Attaching images of vague ideas (mood boards, aesthetics, etc.) is totally fine! This is a free, artistic-liberty art thread. You might not always get exactly what you want, and that's okay!

 • Once you post, you have one week to design a character based on the request of your recipient/claimee (person above) and transfer the character. If you need to work longer, work out an extension with your recipient/claimee. Allowing indefinite extensions is okay with me if it's okay with you. If your claimer (person below) is taking longer than they promised (past seven days or their extension), let me know.

 • New rule as of 12/20/23: If you've allowed an extension to your claimer (person below), edit your comment indicating so (something like "Extension for [person below me] until MM/DD").

 • If your post goes unclaimed for 24 hours (I might change depending on how popular this turns out), please add some more options to both species and theme.

 • "Species" can include real animals, mythical creatures, humans, kemonomimi, open species, hybrids etc. Even stuff that isn't necessarily a "species" but could conceivably be made into a character is acceptable (robot, airplane, anthropomorphic saxophone, etc.). Go crazy!

 • No NSFW designs/concepts since this is a 13+ thread. I.E. Keep it PG-13.

 • Characters can be detailed or simple, but detailed enough that it's a unique and referenceable design. As of 12/20/23, must be at least a full-body depiction. As of 3/9/24, must be colored too (unless the character is solid white or translucent or something, but make it clear that that's what you're doing).

 • Not optional as of 10/23/23: Once the design you make is done, you must attach the character to your post in an image, link, or IC. This is both so people curious about this thread can see examples of what they could get, and so I can verify that everyone has made their promised designs!

 • 3/9/24 Turns out moderating this thread gets me super anxious. I'll no longer be checking every post to verify that everyone is behaving. If you don't receive a custom from the person below or have any other sort of trouble, please send me a direct message. Also check out this unfilled claims thread.

 • I can't guarantee that your post will ever be claimed. It's inevitable that there will be a last post eventually (even if I leave the thread open virtually forever), and I can't predict how well this thread will do. Post at your own risk!

 • Here's one of those blacklist things. Please be good and follow the rules, or on the list you go. If enough people break the rules, I will close the thread. Don't claim posts made by the following people. If someone on the blacklist makes a post, claim the person above them

At this point I have no way of predicting whether this thread will flop on its face or blow up. If it gets hard enough to moderate at any time, I will lock it, because I'm an overloaded college student as is. (If I lock the thread, I'll compensate for the last person by claiming their request.) So PLEASE JUST BE GOOD!! 😭
