Published Author Offering Writing Comms

Introduction

Hello! Thanks for checking out my writing shop! My name is raerae although you're free to call me rae or just 'r' if that suits your fancy! From the title, I'm sure you already know what this is about. I have been writing for about a decade now and recently was able to work with some amazing people, as a ghostwriter. For those of you, unfamiliar with the term, a ghostwriter is someone who gets hired to write out a novel with someone's idea. After they get paid, they no longer have anything to do with said novel, meaning that the book no longer belongs to them. Because of the pandemic, and my free time, I decided to offer this service to some of you amazing people! In the past, I did commissions for characters, so I thought I would open up my doors for that and more. I will be starting with 10 slots! So, please continue reading!

What Am I Comfortable Writing

Honestly, in all of the time that I've been writing, through rps, story writing, and character development, there has been little that has made me uncomfortable. But my big NO NO is drug abuse. While I don't mind writing this, I will not be excessive with it, as it hits home with some of my family members. Other than this, I will write romance, mystery, fantasy, just about any drama that you guys want! I'm fine writing in any perspective, as an animal, Anthro, or human. I will either write third person or first person, in past or present tense, depending on what you want!

Character Backstories

A character backstory, in my opinion is 1-20 pages (500 words - 10k words). You supply the character, and any ideas you may have (or I can pitch you ideas if you don't have them).

Alternate Universe

An Alternate Universe Commission, from me, means that there is an already created universe that you'd like your characters to be in. An example of this would be you hiring me with a feline adopt, wanting me to add them into a Warriors book or if you want your character to be added onto the Marvel Avengers Team. I can create an entire cast of characters, or we can use the cannons that already exist. You must be able to supply the character(s) for this!

Character Sheet

A character sheet is 1-5 pages (500-2500 words) that goes into depth about your character. Their personality, their family, what they do and don't like. While it doesn't delve into their background, you basically learn everything about said character. You must be able to supply the character for this, and if you want a specific code, you will have to provide that as well.

Novel Writing

Yes, you read that right! Have you ever had an idea but weren't able to add pen to paper? Well, I will write some novels for you guys, whether it be a standalone or you turn it into a series. And once the novel is paid for, it fully belongs to you, meaning you can sell it or do whatever you want with it really! You do not need to have a character for me to write a novel for you although the minimum number of words required for this is 10k.

Original Story

An original story is any story about a character that does not constitute as a background story. You must supply the character. If you don't have a basic Idea then let me know, and we can bounce some ideas around!

Sample #1

Slowly, Ainsley rises her finger to her lips, eyes staring at her younger sister, as she shakes her head. Goosebumps begin to arise on her arms, and she holds her breath, eyes staying on her sibling’s as she hears the quiet rattle, as the ender nears them. Throughout all of their encounters, they’d never been so close to one of the beasts, that was blind for all intents and purposes. And this wasn’t the one time that she would have wanted this. She was leaning against the counter, with her siblings across from her, crouched inside of the cabinets where a few pots and pans were kept. One wrong move, and the dishes would be enough to reveal them. Ainsley had never been so thankful that the lamp, on a nearby counter was the only light around them. There was a quiet determination in Maggie’s eyes, as she tried to remain strong. For someone, at the tender age of thirteen, she was more of a force to be reckoned with than those three, or even four, times her age. But, her sister wasn’t the one that Ainsley was worried about. Oli, was wrapped inside of Maggie’s arms, noticeably shaking from the fear, his bottom lip quivering, as he tried to hide in his screams. He was only eight, he didn’t know better. He was scared and unaware of how to hide it. In times like this, usually Ainsley was the one to cuddle him and make sure he knew that she was there. But, there hadn’t been time. She was just glad that he wasn’t by himself. Looking around, she attempts to find her knife. She’d dropped it and hurried her siblings to hide when she’d heard the call from Darby. There hadn’t been much time, and she hadn’t thought about it. Her eyes find it, placed on the counter above Maggie and Oli. If she could reach then she could snatch it up and offer them a way out of here. All it took was good luck, and she could stab it before running out of there, with her siblings. The enders’ skin was tough, but still penetrable. If she hit a sensitive spot, it may wound the thing long enough for them to get out of the cabin and run into the woods where they stood a better chance of not being found. Slowly and carefully, she leaned away from the counter she’d been pressed against, as she reached for the knife, just as she watched her sister raise a hand, telling her to stop. Not a moment too soon, as the quiet tapping entered the kitchen, signifying the enders’ arrival. Ainsley couldn’t see it, not yet, and that made her nervous, something she tried desperately to hide from Maggie. She froze where she was. Enders had incredibly poor eyesight, but they sensed things through movement and enhanced hearing. One sound or one move, and it would be able to pinpoint them. If they stayed frozen and quiet then it may inspect, but without evidence that they were something to be consumed, the enders would move along, in an effort to find something else for their never-ending hunger. The tapping grew closer, and for a moment, doubt overcame Ainsley, as she debated whether she should move back against the counter before she decided against it. That would catch their attention. They needed to be nothing more than an inanimate object. She supposed that it did allow for her to be closer to her younger siblings which may lull them into a safety pretense. The ender appeared to the side of them, the lamp casting a faint light on it. She’d seen them before, but each time, she couldn’t help the surprise of the killing machine that it was. It was incredibly long limbed and a grey, dull, and lifeless color. They were tall, with two feet like a human although at the ends of said feet, there were elongated claws, black and sharp. Purple veins existed, surrounding their entire body. Their faces were nothing but sharp teeth, jagged, with two eyes on either side of its head. Each of them had about six feet and two arms, having every measure to allow for it to capture its prey. Inching closer, the ender placed its face closer to them, its mouth happening. Ainsley had always believed that the mouth was how they heard although she’d never had any concrete evidence until now. Then, her thoughts were interrupted, as she heard the tapping again. Her eyes widened. “There are two of them,” she looked down and mouthed to Maggie, who inhaled sharply, audibly enough to catch the interest of the ender nearest to them, as it growled, leaning closer to them. Out of fright, Oli let out a small cry before immediately covering his mouth. Knowing that they didn’t have time, Ainsley grabbed her siblings, yanking them away from the cabinet, as she heard the ender crash into it before reaching for her knife. She stuck the knife into its side, puncturing it before picking Oli up and grabbing Maggie’s hand, as she moved them to the other side of the counter. Just as she’d thought, the other ender went to inspect its friend, and now, with a clear path to the door, Ainsley began running, quicker than her feet had ever taken her, pushing Maggie in front of her and cradling Oli, in her arms. The tapping of the ender began to follow, but not fast enough. She slammed the door, as a distraction before running into the woods, pulling her makeshift family into the bushes and silently hushing Oli. The sound of the ender busting through the door was heard seconds later, and she peeked up at it, watching it open its mouth again, looking for them, before roaring, into the air, and then crawling back inside, admitting its defeat. Ainsley’s focus instantly turned back to her siblings, gathering them in her arms and hushing them. “It’s okay. It’s okay,” she whispered although she knew that her words were a lie. There would never be a time when they weren’t in danger, but for now, at least they were alive.

“Are you afraid, my child?” The quiet question sends a chill down Christian’s spine. Ignoring it, she stares straight ahead as Saion continues to circle her, feeling his gaze on her. She calms down her rapid heartbeat before shaking her head, in response. “No.” Her answer is simple, as she desperately attempts to forgo any emotion. “Do you lie?” He stops walking, taking a place behind her. “No.” A humorless laugh leaves the man, if she can even call him that. Christian felt ill prepared for this trial. Of course, Athos had informed her of what was to come, but this was nothing like in training. This man hardly seemed to lack the kindness, that the books described, of the entities. “Then why do I think you a teller of untruths?” he asks. “Because I’m sure most people who visit you are.” “How so?” “They truly are afraid of you.” “But, you’re not?” There’s no surprise or anger in his voice. He is asking her a genuine question. “No.” “And, why is that?” One of her hands lightly clench, at her side, and the small movement has him swiftly moving in front of her, at the speed of light, as he stares into her eyes. He appears different than he did when she first entered the Forsaken Cave. Instead of the dark hair and green eyes, Saion had switched it to blonde hair and brown eyes. Another face that he had stolen from someone who thought they were powerful enough to face him, without fear. “Because the only thing to fear is fear, itself.” It’s a mantra that has been installed in Christian’s head as soon as she was born. She’d believed it all her life, and that wouldn’t change now. “Is that what Athos has taught you?” “No,” she answers. “My mother.” “Ah, your mother always was incredibly optimistic. It’s what brought about her early demise.” Hearing his words makes Christian frown a bit before she quickly wipes the expression from her face. She knew better than to show her true feelings. Thoughts began to circle through her mind, piles of questions, yet she knew that she didn’t have time for them all. “You knew my mother?” “Everyone knew her, whether it be by her mortal name, Cleo, or her keeper name, Vyana.” “What happened to her?” “My child, that is not the reason you sought me out, is it?” Christian knows that he’s right. Athos had not sent her here so that she could dig further into her mother’s untimely death. But, she can’t shake the fact that she thinks he knows what happened to her, that Saion could tell her every detail. But, he won’t. She doesn’t need to ask him to know the truth. He knew why she was here. “And do you believe it?” “Believe what?” “That there’s nothing to fear in this world?” “There are many things to fear.” Saion contradicts her, as he begins to walk again, pushing his cloak out of his way. Her words have sparked an interest in him, something to think about. “Fear is an instinctive emotion. It’s what keeps mortals out of trouble. But, mortals aren’t the only one to feel it.” “The underworlders do as well?” “Hm,” he answers. “And the entities?” “Everything in the world has something to be afraid of.” “What is your fear?” “Do you have means to use it against me?” Christian shakes her head. She’s shocked by his words. The entities are supposed to be all powerful and mighty. None of the books or scrolls that she read revealed any possible fears that they may have. And why would they fear something anyway? What could hurt them? Her eyes widened with curiosity. “You’re deviated from your task, once more.” She was surprised from just how often her mind would wander to other things once she was within his vicinity. But, she wasn’t mad at herself. There was little that Saion didn’t know, and she couldn’t help but to want to gain a bit of that knowledge for herself. Still, she’d have to return for another chat when there wasn’t as much weight on her shoulders. “You’re right.” “What did you come for, my child?” “The Eye of Evermore Sight.” “And you think you are worthy for such a thing?” His question isn’t degrading, nor is he stating a stance. Just as everything he’s asked, in the past, it’s genuine. Saion just wanted an answer. She swallowed. “I think that I was chosen,” she states, pushing her shoulders back. “And I believe there’s reason for that even if I don’t know that reason.” “So, you consider honest that you were justly chosen?” “Everyone has a destiny.” “Another teaching?” “Yes.” Saion nods. “Even if you are deserving, who says that the world is?” Hiding the confusion, she feels, Christian stares at him, as he walks past her. Several thoughts swirl in her mind although she doesn’t voice them. “To play devil’s advocate, who says that it isn’t?” she asks him, her voice strong. “I do.” His cold answer makes her heart drop, as he walks away from her eyesight. If he didn’t believe that the world was worthy then he wouldn’t give her the artifact. If Christian was unable to get the artifact then her trial would be for nothing. She wouldn’t be able to continue. She would have failed not only herself, but the entire world. She couldn’t let that happen. “Then, why do I think you a teller of untruths?” she asks, using the words he’d told her earlier. He chuckles. “Because as a mortal, you believe what you want to believe instead of what is in front of you. It’s a flaw you all possess.” “I disagree,” she tells him. “You care about the mortal world. You don’t want to see it corrupted.” “This is not a question of what I want, but what all mortals deserve. They have launched themselves into this chaos. They have doomed themselves and the mortal world.” “But, it’s not all mortals,” she argues. “There are as many good as there are evil, but the actions of the evil outweigh those, of the good. Will you punish all for a crime that only a few committed?”

Sample #3

“I’m beginning to think that you never loved me.” The words hang in the air, between them. The words hurt Jacob, something obvious in his gaze, as he stares at her. The two of them had been through so much together, and the fact that it may be ending soon because of something he couldn’t control. If there was one thing that he hated, it was this feeling of not being in control, of not being in charge of his own decisions and life. He couldn’t remember a time that he’d ever seen Phoenix so heart broken and sad. It was unusual for him to see her without a grin, on her face. Her usually vibrant, pale green eyes were lust less, her dark hair dull. Jacob was so used to seeing these lips in a playful pout that seeing them now, turned downwards, quivering, as she attempted to hold back the sobs, desperate to escape. With how emotional she tended to be, he was surprised that she was composing herself so well. “Say something,” Phoenix cries, her face scrunched up from her sadness. He hated to see her this way, truly, but as he looked at her, he realized that no matter how much he loved her, it wasn’t enough for him to place her in dangerous. Jacob would prefer her to be heart broken and safe than anything else. “Please.” His resolve was breaking, and he had to look away from her, his hand curling into a fist, to give him something, anything, else to focus on. “My love for you was always real, Phoenix,” he states, his voice low, without emotion, to keep from allowing her to see how much this was tearing him up inside, too. She was ridiculously wrong if she thought that this wasn’t affecting him, even if he had to make it seem as if it wasn’t. “You know that.” “Do I?” she asks, taking a step closer to him. “Because it doesn’t seem like it.” “Don’t be so dramatic.” Jacob’s voice was cold. He’d never spoken to her like this before, and, how could he? Throughout his entire life, he’d been neglected, and she was the only person who treated him like a person. Phoenix had loved him for who he was, always accepted him. She had been the one person that he could always count on, and doing this to her, of all people, made him hate himself. “What?” “Love dies, you know all about that.” His words were harsh, unnecessary. Before being with him, Phoenix had been engaged to a man who hadn’t treated her near as well as he should have. As badly as he mistreated her, she always stood by his side, like a loyal Labrador. She put up with him because he’d given her a sob story, of his past, over how she was all that he had. Being as kind as she was, she could never leave him, only gaining freedom when he dumped her a few months after the engagement, having come into some inheritance and finding someone that he thought was much more attractive than her. Even when he left her, she didn’t have a mean word to say about him. In all honesty, she preferred to talk about him, as little as she could, always growing quiet and saddened when he was brought up. Jacob didn’t think she still loved him. Rather, it’d been three years of her life that she had been with him, and it wasn’t unusual that she would hold onto the bad memories. “You don’t mean that, Jacob,” she pleaded, trying to convince herself as much as him. “Yes,” he told her sternly. “I do. “But, Jacob…” He interrupted her. “Look, Phoenix, I get it, you want to hold onto me, but I finally see what Evan saw.” Bringing in her ex’s name made Phoenix bring her hand over her mouth, in shock. He saw a hint of fury in her eyes. “You have a thing for broken men. You like to fix us up until we look brand new again. Now that I’m all repaired, frankly, I want somebody else. Why isn’t that something that you can understand?” “You’re wrong,” she told him, stabbing him, in the chest with her finger. “I don’t have a thing for broken men. I can’t choose who I love.” “Can’t you though?” he asks, allowing for his eyes to meet hers, once more. He needed to drive the case home. Jacob needed for her to lose hope and begin to get over him and their love. He didn’t have any other options. “You knew of my past. Do you honestly think that I thought it was completely coincidental that you started talking to me when you never have before? You were looking for another project.” “No, I wasn’t,” she argued, taking a step away from him and turning her back to him. “Then, why did you start talking to me?” “Because you looked lonely.” “Bullshit!” he growled out. “Tell me the truth.” “Because you looked like you needed me!” she admitted, her voice high, as she turned around to face him, the tears eagerly running down her cheeks. “I’ve never been needed by anyone, you know that! I just wanted to feel needed, is that such a bad…?” Jacob didn’t let her finish the sentence when he grabbed her, wrapping an arm around her waist and forcing her against his chest, as he pressed their lips together, hard, in a kiss more passionate than they had ever shared. He didn’t want to let her go, didn’t want to ever not be with her. But, this was all that he could offer her. Phoenix kissed him back insistently, her love, revealed in the kiss, as she clung to him. After a few seconds, Jacob pulled away from her slowly, witnessing her dazed expression. He let her go. “Goodbye, Phoenix.” And he turned around, ignoring her pleas and cries, as he walked away from the only woman that he would ever love.
