Geode Prompts

Aside from his heated exterior, Chili was actually pretty sweet, and loved exploring. His mother didn't like it when he spent the whole day out, he knew it, but the geode just couldn't help it. There were just so many things to see, new things to learn, and he had better know about the world if he really wanted to be a knight - they had to be as knowledgeable as they were courageous. That's why he decided to venture into the Mainland in one of his trips outside, on a particularly sunny and beautiful day of summer.

He'd never left The Ebony Wreath before, never going further than the tall mountains of Banelaire. His mother wouldn't approve of it, anyways. She said it was dangerous - and, considering the history of their Strata, she had every reason to think so. Even then, he couldn't stay cooped up in their nests forever. Chili wished to see the vast lands of the continent, and wanted to do so before he had to chain himself to a rigid training schedule in some Knight Academy. 

He soared the sky with motivation, observing the peak of the mountains of the Ebony Wreath, already well known to him. He followed East, in the direction of the mainland, forever watching the landscape and its rocky appearance. Soon enough, the surroundings gave way to a greener scenery, but not before he could see a concentration of buildings nestled into the earth. He slowly got down from the sky, carefully watching for cautious pouflons. He wouldn't want his intentions to be mistaken, of course, and he was already a teenager, with almost the body of a fully grown vespire. Chili examined the constructions - from small huts, probably for living, to mineshaft entrances, and even a majestic castle-like building, full of peaks and pompous appearance. 

The geode curiously inspected the architecture of the building. That must be the Obrille Academy, he thought, and it made perfect sense. His mother had told him about it, when he asked. Said it had been there where she'd trained to become a knight, and one of the best institutions a young aspiring knight could hope to study at. 

This is very different than what I'm used to see. Chili thought with a hint of hesitancy. I wonder if I'll fit in, a small voice pounded in his head. He ignored it, though. Even if he was the most exotic student there, that wouldn't stop him from pursuing his ultimate goal. 

Satisfied for today, Chili returned home. He knew he'd probably receive a scolding, but even still, he was too excited to contain himself. 

"Mother! Guess what I went to see for the first time today!"
