Tsubaki Ishihara of class 2-B had been looking forward to UA's School Festival for a long time; she was excited to see all of the great projects made by the other classes, but her interests lay mainly on class 1-B's play, Romeo and Juliet and the Prisoner of Azkabum. Kinoko Komori, her girlfriend, was in charge of makeup and costuming.

I'm so excited for this! I know it's going to be so great! Tsubaki was already getting goosebumps when she took a seat in the theatre, the lights going dim. She leaned forward in her seat, fixing her eyes on the stage as she thought of Kinoko backstage.

No longer was she just a crush, but they were now an official couple. Every time Tsubaki thought of it, she felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Her face was going red just to think of it, but before she lost herself to the fluttery feelings in her stomach, the lights brightened and the curtain began to rise, marking the beginning of the play's first act.

The premise of the play was a mish-mash of familiar stories, but the plot was compelling nonetheless. Tsubaki found herself hanging on every word spoken by the characters, also taking several moments to admire each and every one's costume and makeup.

Kinoko is sooo amazing at this! I can't wait to tell her what an amazing job she's done, and everyone else, too! As the play went on, Tsubaki was surprised by how well the students performed as actors and actresses on the stage; Monoma especially seemed like a natural born thespian in his leading role as Romeo.

As the play went on, Tsubaki soon was hanging on the edge of her seat, wondering what sort of twists and turns the story would take next. However, in the back of her mind she was hoping that there would be time left after the cleanup to take Kinoko on a little date, walking through the festival stalls. It'd be a shame if Kinoko couldn't enjoy it all!

I know she's worked super hard on this play, along with the rest of 1-B, so I wanna make sure she has a really fun time after this. I'm so excited! It's really turning out to be a perfect day full of sunshine! Kinoko, are you feeling just as happy as I am?

Soon, the final act of the play began. The plot took a thrilling and unexpected turn when it was revealed that Romeo and Juliet were actually half-siblings, and proceeded to duel for the throne. In the end, a dragon attacked Juliet, but Romeo sacrificed his life to protect her.

Juliet then defeated the dragon and vowed to create a grand new kingdom.

Tsubaki stood up, applauding energetically as the actors and actresses came onto the stage to give a bow. She then waited for the audience to disperse before sneaking backstage to congratulate class 1-B on a job well done.

Kinoko came over to her, wearing a shy yet happy smile. "Tsubaki! I'm so glad you came to watch our play!" Tsubaki was stunned for a moment, noticing that Kinoko had the prettiest makeup and outfit of anyone in class 1-B.

Then, she blinked, regaining her senses. Laughing shyly, she nodded at Kinoko. "Of course! I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Everything was amazing, especially the costumes and makeup! I knew you'd do a super awesome job, Kinoko!" She exclaimed, excitedly clasping her girlfriend's hands in her own, eyes sparkling.

Kinoko blushed deeply; it was no secret that the two were dating, but to get a public display of affection made her a little weak in the knees. "Hee hee! I'm glad you think so. We all worked really hard to make it a success, you know? It was so much fun!"

Tsubaki then began to help class 1-B with the cleanup, eventually pouting a little. "You know, as beautiful as the costumes and makeup was on all the actors and actresses, I'm a bit sad I wasn't part of your class so you could dress me up, too." She then chuckled happily, her bright smile making Kinoko's heart race.

"Actually..." Kinoko paused before pressing her two index fingers together. "I got permission to let you borrow a costume, and I can give you a little makeover too, once we're done here."

"Really?" Tsubaki's eyes widened with excitement. "Ooh, I can't waaaait! Then, let's go out and enjoy the festival together, okay? There are a lot of great stalls I want to visit with you!"

"Aww... Tsubaki..." Kinoko giggled. "Okay! It'll be great!"

=====

After the cleanup was done and the rest of class 1-B had left the backstage area, Kinoko pulled out the costume rack. "Let's see... What would suit you..."

Soon, both pairs of eyes fixed on a particular dress: it was cute and frilly, black and green with  flower patterns that ran from the center and down to near the edge of the dress's skirt. "This one!" They both exclaimed in unison, then giggled.

Tsubaki then dashed to the changing room to put on the dress, returning to do a little spin for Kinoko, who clapped. "It looks great on you, Tsubaki! Now for your makeover...!"

As Tsubaki sat down to let Kinoko do her work, they chatted about the play. At one point, Tsubaki decided to tease her girlfriend a little. "You know, I think I managed to find my Juliet already, and that's you, Kinoko!" She giggled when Kinoko's hand slipped in her surprise, leaving a long line of lipstick across Tsubaki's face.

"H-Hey! I'm trying to do your makeup all pretty, and you startled me with that comment!" Kinoko blushed profusely, as did Tsubaki. After fixing the mistake, she continued.

Tsubaki could not resist teasing her again, reciting one of Romeo's lines from the play:

“Would that I could pluck my heart from its chest, such that you might hear its cries and know as I do that we are each other’s destiny!”

Luckily, Kinoko had finished her work and stood up, placing her arms on her hips, looking quite pleased with herself. "Tsubaki... It's done!" she showed Tsubaki her reflection in a hand mirror, trying not to get too flustered from her sweet comments.

"That's me? I've never felt so pretty before! Thank you, Kinoko!" Tsubaki jumped to her feet, setting the mirror down before offering Kinoko a hand. "Shall we dance, my Juliet?"

Kinoko placed her hands on her cheeks, feeling that she was burning up, but soon curtsied and took Tsubaki's hand. "Let's dance, my Ray of sunshine!"

=====

Though UA's School Festival was winding down as the sun began to set, there was still plenty for Tsubaki and Kinoko left to enjoy. They visited several food stands, and Kinoko surprised Tsubaki with her favorite treat: cinnamon and chocolate crepes.

After sharing a few different snacks together, they visited the haunted house, which proved to be more than a little thrilling. To relax, Tsubaki suggested visiting the face board and take some photos to remember the day together. They spent a good amount of time posing behind different picture boards of pirates, monsters, animals and more.

Now, the festivities were drawing to a close, and Kinoko and Tsubaki began their walk back to the dorm, hand-in-hand. "I had a great time today," Tsubaki said. "I'm so glad we got so many pictures together, too. Oh! Let's take a selfie together, I wanna use it as my phone background!" She pulled Kinoko close and both of them did a victory sign, grinning happily.

"Send it to me, too!" Kinoko exclaimed, her face rippling with red.

"Done!" Tsubaki told her after sending it via text message. "I sent all the face board ones, too! Some of them are so funny... I kinda wanna share them with everyone! Look how cute you are in this one!" She showed a picture of Kinoko behind a face board of Hawks.

Kinoko laughed. "And you in this one!" She pointed at the face board photo of Tsubaki as All Might. "Your energy is so perfect to be All Might!"

They continued browsing the pictures together as they walked back to the dorm, simply enjoying their time together. Before they entered the building, Kinoko stopped Tsubaki, shyly brushing back her hair. "Tsubaki... Thank you for always spending time with me! When I'm with you, I feel so happy. You really, truly are my Ray of sunshine, you know?"

Now it was Tsubaki's turn to get flustered. Her heart skipped a beat and she stood there, stunned for a moment before laughing happily. "I'll always shine my light on you, Kinoko," she gazed into her eyes, smiling brightly as she stepped a little closer. "I'm so happy to be with you, too! Let's stay together always!" She took Kinoko's hands into hers, then gave her a sweet little kiss on the cheek before stepping away, red-faced.

"Y-Yeah! I want to be with you always!" Kinoko exclaimed bashfully.

"Let's keep working hard together, Kinoko! One day, I want us to become pro heroes together! We'll be the most unstoppable duo, and villains will go back into hiding!" Tsubaki raised up her arms, cheering. "We have to come up with a cool name for our team!"

"Yeah!" Kinoko cheered along with her. "Let's come up with some names later!"

Intertwining their fingers once again, they returned to the dorm together, happily thinking of the hopeful, wonderful future that they would share alongside one another.
