Fanfic snippets
Basically a bunch of snippets I wrote that I can't really turn into full fanfics or connect to anything I have currently so they're just here and I wanted to share them.
Chapter 2
“Look who’s here, the sacrifice.” Hearing those all-too familiar words as soon as she entered the match lobby, Becca simply sat down and kept her eyes on the table, not saying a word. This wasn’t the first time anyone sent a snide comment her way and every part of Becca knew it wouldn’t be the last.
Fidgeting with her sleeve, she remained quiet even as the other survivors there chatted to come up with a strategy for the map. The catgirl survivor never bothered with those discussions anymore since her input was always ignored and she ended up getting chaired anyways.
“Glad to see you, Becca.” Looking up and meeting eyes with Ada, the manor’s supposed psychologist, she visibly flinched. Noticing Ada send a pretend smile her way, Becca realized she had noticed her flinch.
“Don’t be so jumpy, dear.” Reaching out to put a hand under Becca’s chin, the latter flinched one more and the alarms to start the match ran through the lobby before either of them could speak. “Looks like we got a match together.. And don’t forget, my offer to make you more useful is still open.” Only a keen eye would notice the way Becca trembled as soon as those words left the psychologist’s mouth but said psychologist merely smiled and headed towards the exit so the match could start.
At that moment, Becca knew she had a lot more than just hunters to worry about.
