S and Blue are snoozing on the couch
Warm light filled the room despite the late hour, spilling out the window into the moonlit grass outside. A clock ticked quietly from its place on the wall, just enough to break peaceful silence.
Two skeletons laid on the couch; curled up together, sound asleep. The smaller one twitched, and the bigger one mumbled in response, shifting to hold his companion closer.
Tonight was a rare night. The house was at peace, with no one moving about or making noise. The only sounds from the pair of skeletons were the soft sounds of breathing, and a sigh as the smaller one settled back into a deeper sleep.
The clock chimed twice, announcing the top of the hour. Still the skeletons slept, too deep in their slumber to hear the cuckoos call. Nothing would wake them from their peaceful dreams tonight.
