Wyrvern padded his way down through the grasslands. Unlike the filthy city, he actually found this place to be quite peaceful and clean. No searching through garbage here, thank you! Nothing but a spring in his step as he listened to the gentle rustle of the breeze brushing against the grasslands.

“Hey, hey Wyrvern, where are you going?”

Ah. And there it was. The over eager voice of Selkie, the chyro who’d been staying with him and his human. It amazed him that there could be chyros as small as Selkie and as big as he was.

“Out,” he said shortly, frowning at Selkie. “Looking for things. I thought you were supposed to be back with our human?”

Selkie shrugged, their odd black and green eyes glittering as they looked up at him. “Yeah, well, I wanna look for things with you! Can’t I come? Please?”

Wyrvern considered his options. Selkie did ruin his peace and quiet, but hey, maybe they could do some good. A long sigh escaped his lips.

“Fine, but you’ve got to stay with me,” he said, giving Selkie a severe look. “Come on then, let’s see if you can find anything.”

Before Wyrvern had a chance to react, Selkie barrelled into his side and began nuzzling him aggressively, a dopey smile on their face. 

“Thank you thank you thank you!”

And with that, Selkie bounded off with the energy that Wyrvern doubted he’d ever had. It took him a bit to catch up, huffing slightly from the effort. 

Selkie bounded left, right, left again, and then suddenly went dashing off in a completely different direction that forced Wyrvern to almost tangle himself up to follow them.

“Where *huff* where are you going?” Wyrvern panted, doing his best to keep up.

It took a moment for Selkie to respond, focused as they were on their destination. They stopped suddenly and grinned. 

“I found something!” they crowed. “Something awesome!”

Wyrvern rolled his eyes, and leaned in to take a closer look. “Well, that certainly is… something.”
