Dame sniffed the glowing shard, her eyes wide. "What is it?" she asked Lili. "I mean, yeah, it's part of that statue, but we don't know what the statue is, either."

The angel eevee picked up the star-shaped piece in eir mouth. "I dunno," ey said, eir voice muffled, "but I'm gonna see how many I can fit in my mouth."

Dame tilted her head as Lili rose into the air, eir wings barely moving. It took a moment to process what ey said and where ey was going. "No!" Dame yelped, and she tackled Lili to the ground. "Those shards belong to other people! Or the statue! Maybe both! You can't eat them!"

Lili swung eir head in an arc, flinging eir halo like a frisbee. It hit Dame directly in the forehead, knocking her off. Lili giggled and tucked the shard in eir cheek. "I'm not gonna eat them," ey said. "I'm just putting them in my mouth. Don't worry, Dame, I'll use mouthwash afterwards."

"You are so mean!" Dame yelled. "Kyrie! Kyrie! Stop your mean angel! Kyrie!"

Eventually, their trainer would notice the commotion, but until then, Dame and Lili scuffled on the forest floor as Lili tried to get to the collection of glowing shards.
