The Anxiety Dance
A ghoulish waltz that
Feels like it would never end
Like it’s an ocean ever expanding
Or a desert ever lonelier
This morbid tango feels cold
Icy, almost like one could freeze over
In terror, like a deer in headlights
This inescapable chilliness freezes the hearts
Of all who participate in it
The song that accompanies this dance
Is like a saddening, terrible ballad
That could make anyone wail
Just at catching wind of it
If this waltz had a taste
It would be like a bland and sad meal
Like the chef who created this concoction
Put no effort into it and just
Gave up on it at the start
The Anxiety Dance
A ghoulish waltz that
Feels like it would never end
And for those caught in its grasp
It won’t stop until help will come
