Scene Sunday #49
Barcode murmured in her sleep as she shifted, sliding down the back of the couch until her skull was resting on WD's shoulder. He didn't look up from his book, instead transferring it to one hand and placing the other hand gently on his wife's shoulder.
Faint shrieks of glee grew louder as their grandkids darted to and fro through the house, until eventually the little skeletons rounded the corner and darted through the livingroom, paying no mind to anyone who might be having a nap at this particular moment. Barcode tensed as they passed, making a tiny, distressed noise even as their footsteps retreated quickly into the hallway, still focused on their game.
WD leaned his skull against Barcode's, rubbing her shoulder slowly. "Shh, pay them no mind... They are safe."
The sleeping skeleton relaxed slightly, then a few moments later was almost completely limp as she fell into a deeper sleep. WD smiled. Good, it was time she got some rest.
