RAVENPOOL:

Ravenpool had been resting in camp as the sun slowly crept its way over the hills. The sun was warm, sure, but he had not missed the slight chill in the air. A reminder of the upcoming seasons that would soon be upon them. I suppose we will all be up to our ears in snow soon too. he thought bitterly, tail thrashing from side to side at the thought. A small yawn escaped him as he stretched, before standing. He had planned to go on a small hunting trip, he just wanted to wait for a few more cats to be awake before approaching them and asking them to accompany him. His eyes trailed around the slowly waking Wiese camp, before his eyes settled on a brown molly making her way into the middle of camp. She looked more awake than most, so he made his way over to her. "Hey Huskytuft, good morning!" he greeted, nodding his head "I was gonna go on a hunting patrol, would you care to join me?"

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

Huskytuft didn't mind the nip to the air of whatsoever. Actually, she was quite a fan of it. Her fur was on the longer side and extremely thick anyways, so dealing with colder weather wasn't a problem at all for her. The heat of summer actually tended to bother her more. So, this change of weather was very much appreciated for the young dame. As Huskytuft rose to her paws in preparation to leave, the voice of another feline reached her ears. She was hoping to see some smoking hot young lady approaching, but was disappointed to find that it was only Ravenpool. Oh well. He was decent enough company, even if not for flirtatious shenanigans. "Good morning. That sounds nice." She responded with a dip of her head.

RAVENPOOL:

Ravenpool nodded his head, the weather was perfect, not too much wind, so they probably wouldn't have much trouble finding scent trails. He started to walk when he turned his head towards the molly to speak,"I was thinking we could head towards Clawdrop Hill, we may have more luck towards that way." He quickly spoke up again, "unless you have another spot you'd like to go, of course! I don't mind either way"

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

The tom nodded his head in response, going on to suggest that they head up towards Clawdrop HIll, where they might end up having more luck. Huskytuft bobbed her head along in agreement. "I have no particular stomping grounds in mind. Clawdrop Hill works for me." Had he been some pretty molly she likely would've trailed behind to admire the "view" but he wasn't and so she took charge, alpha female personality kicking in as she led the way out into Wiese's territory.

RAVENPOOL:

Ravenpool trailed beside Huskytuft, following along as she led the way. He was taking in the sights around them as the two warriors made their way up the trail towards their hunting destination. Their walk was filled with a comfortable silence, the sounds of birds around them filled the air, and if they listened closely, smaller prey scurrying through the underbrush could be heard in some spots too. As the two warriors reached the hill, he took a moment to stop and listen, hoping to get a glimpse of a mouse or hopefully, something a little bigger like a squirrel or a rabbit. "smell or see anything that could be worth our time?" he asked quietly.

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

Silence lapsed between the two felines. It was a comfortable silence, although it certainly would not have existed if Ravenpool had been female. Had that been the case, Huskytuft would have been throwing flirtations at him left and right. He was saved from her antics though, by his gender alone if nothing else. When his voice broke the silence she turned towards him, tufted ears perking forwards. ”Nothing yet. What about you? Perhaps we are searching in the wrong places.” Prey always seemed a bit fickle, some days more than others.

RAVENPOOL:

He hadn't noticed much in the current spot they were in, aside from a small mouse that would barely feed a kit scurrying off into the brush. Ravenpool crouched low to the ground, ears forward as he tasted the air. After a couple of minutes, he heard a bit of rustling up ahead, the scent of a rabbit maybe? it was something bigger than that mouse at least! "up ahead, you hear that? might be something worth our while" he grinned "and if not, we can probably find something farther up"

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

Huskytuft’s ears swiveled forwards, the tufts for which she’d earned her suffix quivering as she picked up on the sound of something scuttling about in the underbrush. Simultaneously, Ravenpool asked if she’d heard that. ”Definitely big enough to be worth our time.” she agreed on a hushed voice, before slipping into a crouch. ”You’re probably faster than me.” she added, making sure to keep her voice as low as possible. ”So how about I drive it towards you and you snatch it?”

RAVENPOOL:

He nodded, finally something that was good enough for them to bring back to camp. ”Sounds like a plan,” he whispered, ”let’s do this.” Ravenpool smiled, he knew that they had this in the bag, hunting with Huskytuft seemed to go so effortlessly, they made a pretty good team. I’ll have to ask her more if she wants to go on hunting patrols he noted.

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

The burly dame gave him a wide grin of approval before focusing on the task at paw. She started forwards, lowering herself closer to the ground and slinking forward. After a few moments she was able to see a rather sightly rabbit. She crept closer and closer until she finally launched herself out of her hiding place. With a squeal of terror, the rabbit whirled and bolted… but in the wrong direction.

RAVENPOOL:

Taking a low crouch behind the brush, he awaited the rabbit and Huskytuft. He heard the rabbit squeal, and got ready, but then he heard the pitter patter of its legs darting off away from them. He stood with a sigh, calling out to the molly, "rabbits are so annoying sometimes don't you think?" A sideways smile on his muzzle. It was disappointing, but there was still plenty of prey they could find.

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

"FUUUUUCKKK!" Huskytuft more or less screamed at the top of her lungs, very contrary from the easy-going and unconcerned response that Ravenpool had given. The burly dame stomped her paws in frustration as she more or less stormed back over to Ravenpool, fuming. She was absolutely livid, although not with Ravenpool of course. "Fucking shitbrain of a -" the rest of her words were a montage of various swears, many of which didn't seem to fit together but made her feel better all the same.

RAVENPOOL:

As the molly made her way back over to him, muttering curses that made him smile slightly, he tried to think of a plan, if they pursued, the rabbit might lead them to its den... a couple of rabbits would be a nice feat. if they could get their claws on them anyway "You think it would be worth going after it? might be more than one where it is heading" he trailed off, "Of course we can always try a different direction, might be something better this way" the tom added, nodding his head in the opposite direction of where the rabbit had ran off to.

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

Huskytuft noticed his little smile and shot him a vicious glare. "I'm glad one of us is getting a kick out of this." she grumbled at him hatefully, before pausing to consider his inquiry. "Hell if I know." she finally snapped, her mood entirely ruined at this point. "I can never catch the little bastards once they get away from me and I doubt we can just talk them into coming out of hiding." Perhaps she was throwing a bit of a temper tantrum at this point, but she hardly cared.

RAVENPOOL:

His ears flicked backwards at the glare thrown his way, maybe laughing at the frustration of the other feline was a little much Raven... he thought, glancing sideways, trying to think of a way that they could either continue, before deciding maybe that was enough for the day. B he paused, before adding "rabbits get faster and faster every time I come out here honestly, or maybe it is me getting older" Ravenpool said, trying to lighten the mood, despite him still being a young cat.

😘 HUSKYTUFT: 😘

Poor Ravenpool attempted to lighten the mood, but Huskytuft just wasn't having it. The burly dame gave another low growl of frustration at him in response, tailtip twitching in anger. They couldn't just give up now though... That wasn't the only damn rabbit in the forest. "Let's keep looking." she barked out, more of an order than anything, before pushing her way through the forest once more. She'd be damned before she returned home empty-pawed.
