The sound of scuffling and soft growls could be heard behind Henry as he worked. He quietly shuffled his papers and referenced one of the books he had open, scribbling notes onto his notepad. His pups were finally here, and boy were they growing fast. Frankie had put on weight quiet fast, and Henry was a little worried it might have been too fast. Fiasma on the other hand was tall. Though she was also chunky, she made up for it with her height. Henry knew he had put on some weight, he couldn’t help himself from stress-eating while he was waiting for them to arrive, and after they had, stress-eating from the breakup. He knew what he and Cinnamon had wouldn’t last, but it still hurt to leave her and his two other pups behind. For the moment though, Henry was glad he only had to take care of two, as they were getting to be a little bit too much to for him to handle.

Suddenly, a yelp and whimper broke Henry from his concentration, and he quickly leaped out of his chair. The scene before him was only slightly startling: Fiasma had Frankie pinned beneath her, and his tail grasped between her teeth. Frankie was whimpering, laying on a pile of papers and a few books.

“D-dad! Fiasma isn’t playing nice!” He whimpered, noticing his father was standing over them. “She burned me too,” he said quietly, holding his talon at an awkward angle.

Fiasma laughed quietly around her brothers tail, tightening her grasp.

Henry sighed, taking a step forward and picking Fiasma up from on top of her brother. He noticed with a start that she was more muscular than the last time he picked her up.

“Fiasma, you can’t use your powers in the house. You can hurt us, and you could burn the library too.”

“I don’t care!” she growled around Frankie’s tail, landing on her feet but keeping his tail in her mouth. “Let it burn!” she snarled, shaking her head to yank on Frankie’s tail.

Frankie was back on his feet, but stumbled when Fiasma yanked his tail, yelping again.

“Dad, please, can you make her let go?” he frowned, looking back to his father.

Henry frowned, gently holding the end of Frankie’s tail and putting his other hand on Fiasma face.

“Fiasma, at least let go of his tail. I’ll take you out hunting in a little bit,” Henry pleaded. Fiasma seemed to take actual interest in this, and dropped the tail between her teeth.

“Yes! Let’s go now! I’ll burn some rabbits!” She said loudly, and began bounding towards the front door.

Henry made a pained face, watching her go. Frankie followed his fathers gaze before ducking his head.

“Dad? Do I have to go hunting too?” Frankie asked quietly. Frankie had always preferred staying inside, growing his plants or playing with toys he found.

Henry smiled and ruffled Frankie’s long hair.

“You can stay home, we shouldn’t be gone long. If you want, I can show you more of my bonsai later,” Henry replied, knowing Frankie adored the fine art Henry had created.

“Yes!” Frankie said, leaping to his feet, before wincing and lifting his right front foot up. Henry knew that Fiasma had burned him again, and the burn would need honey. Henry lowered his head and slowly followed after Fiasma, not knowing what he could do to keep her from hurting her brother, and eventually him.
