Christmas Dates
‘I hate winter.’
Polaris stared at the white snow landing on the ground in front of him. He wasn’t dressed for this…he was so cold. Ugh. Normally he would zip his jacket because hey then he would be warm! But the zipper broke and now he was freezing. He hated the outdoors. Hated snow. Hated Nova for bringing him out here. Hell where did that idiot run off to.
“Hey birdie!”
Nova’s sudden appearance almost startled Polaris into backhanding him. He sighed taking a deep breath as he turned around, “where did you go…”
“You looked cold! I bought hot chocolate for me and apple cider for you!” Nova smiled handing the drink over. Polaris brushed his hair back taking the drink. He managed a soft thank you before trying it himself. Momentary warmth. He hummed stepping an inch closer to the other.
“I should’ve worn a different jacket…it’s so cold out here.”
“But aren’t the lights so pretty! Like look-” Nova turned Polaris around to face the lights again. Decorations that probably took way too long. But Polaris leaned slowly back against the other. Nova was so warm… and his heart was racing. Aha. Was he flustered? Being this close? Polaris blushed holding one of Nova’s hands that rest across his chest.
“You’re really pretty.” Polaris whispered glancing up to the gala behind him. Nova laughed laying his head on the others shoulder.
“Not as pretty as you birdie! I love you soooo much-” Nova chirped peppering the smaller with kisses.
“H-hey! First date doesn’t mean kissing yet-” Polaris whined but didn’t make any movements to get away. He enjoyed Nova’s weird antics. His overly passionate and out there gestures of love. Polaris wished he was more out there and passionate with Nova. But alas the younger just wasn’t as extroverted. Not anymore. Nova’s kisses paused as Polaris turned in his arms, “F-first date Nova-” Polaris didn’t get to continue finding the others lips on his own. He was going to say no kissing without consent but alas he had a feeling that Nova was as usual far too into his own word to stop and listen. The angel’s eyes half closed leaning into Nova’s touch. Ah….he was so warm.
“Haha! Your heart is racing, Birdie~” Nova teased hugging Polaris too him after pulling away. Polaris laughed hiding his face in the others jacket not wanting to acknowledge anything he was feeling. “Best first date ever~ Oh oh! For dinner tonight let’s go get something warm! You’re so cold I don’t want you to get sick- Also we should go home soon to let in your dog-”
Such a sudden mood shift. Polaris smiled his tail slowly moving side to side as he listened to Nova ramble about things they need to do. God he’s so dumb and cute all at the same time haha! Polaris linked his arm with the other dragging him through the Christmas lights. His dog could wait this was their first date and he was going to enjoy it.
