After their little excursion at the more exotic food vendor, Erasmus was still determined to find normal food to eat. His stomach was still giving him fits and he for sure needed to find something to fill it.
It just so happened that Pants had pointed out a lemonade stand, and the pair of runners sat down to enjoy some fresh drinks before returning to their friends. The citrus juice was just enough to hold him off until something better came along, and helped loads with the heat.
Their companions had found themselves bickering over what fair food was better, causing the blue rosette male to step in.
“Lady and gentleman, I suppose we can all agree that corn dogs and fries are the best.” His large fluffy ears perked up and forward as he pointed to a stall with one lonely vayron behind it looking more than a little frazzled.
Leaving the three of them to fight over their favorites, and he had no clue if this would turn into another competition between Kirin and Solaris, Erasmus approached the vendor, who had his paws full of orders.
“Listen kid, I’m a few people behind and I’m out of salt, so if you want your fries salted, you’re going to have to go somewhere else.”
Frowning, the melanistic vay put his paws on the counter. “Do-do you need some-someone to get you s-salt?”
After serving a lovely couple, the vendor looked him over.
“If you could just keep watch for just a few minutes, I can run and get some.”
Nodding, Erasmus stepped into the stall, letting the vendor make a beeline to where he needed to go. The male put his stuffed prize as far away from the vats of grease as he could. He was not going to chance ruining it.
“Hey, I-I’m over here g-guys!” He called out, waving a paw to get his companion’s attention.

“Come on, you gotta admit that anything with fried dough is the best at the fair. And I mean sweet things, meat don't need to be covered in more shit it’s already good enough. But a lovely, fluffy piece of fried dough dipped in some cinnamon or something like that?” Solaris rolled his eyes as Kirin continued her lengthy tirade on fried and non fried dough/food. It was just bread wasn’t it?
Kirin grinned and shoved her shoulder against his “Come on, come on you gotta agree with me! A roasted turkey leg, some sort of refreshing drink and a fried cake to finish it all off?” She pursed her lips. Sticking out her grey tongue “well maybe you're more of a ‘cotton candy and sprinkles guy’ hm? Something flashy to go with the fireworks on your pelt?” she snickered, ready for his rebuttal.
Hearing Erasmus' call from behind a vendor, Kirin quirked a brow and glanced between him and Pants.
“Look at that, pink boy went and found a job,” she barked out a laugh, startling Pants.
Sauntering over, Kirin sat down just to the side of the main window, glancing at the people waiting for their food. “Never took you for the culinary type, Fluffy!” She grinned. There was no way she was stepping behind that stall.

Solaris rolled his eyes at the mess that Erasmus had gotten into now. He was too sweet for his own good, he just had to help out anyone he saw that needed help. ‘Might as well help him out or else the black and pink boy would be buried in unhappy customers and we all know the stuttering male wouldn't be able to handle that’ Solaris thought to himself as he walked towards the bustling food stand.’Of course Kirin won't help either, maybe Pants will help us.’
“Hey Pants, know anything about cooking corn dogs?” The gold male asked the smaller blue runner.
“Uh no not really but I’m willing to learn?” Pants told the male with slight nervousness in his voice.
Solaris himself had some experience with food stands. Having a grandmother who just absolutely adored cooking he always got roped into helping her at the local farmers market on the weekends.’Thank you grandma for teaching me your ways’
“Alright scoot over Erasmus lemme show you how it's done” Solaris said as he went behind the stand and started taking customers orders.
In no time Solaris had all the customers' orders in and cooking and everyone was waiting patiently off to the side while the food cooked, allowing the stand owner enough time to get back with the salt and everything else he needed to restock on for the stand. The boys had explained to the customers that everything would be ready soon; they just needed to be patient if they wanted salt for their fries to which most of them understood and accepted. Any unruly customers were dealt with by the ever so lovely Kirin who towered over most of the patrons. She just gave a heated glare while munching on her snacks and they either scurried off or shut their mouths and waited quietly with the other patrons.
“Thank you boys so much! Without you surely I would have had to close the stand down for the day and that would have cost me big time.” The vendor said almost sobbing at the sight of the patient customers and fryers going with no line for new orders.
“Take however much food you’d like! You kids surely deserve it for doing such fine work for me today.” He finished gesturing to the food behind him that was cooking.
