Fair Activities - Petting Zoo

After all the excitement of the fair, Erasmus wanted nothing more than to go relax and call it a night. His companions though seemed the type to party late into the evening, and he wondered if they’d notice if he snuck away.
Probably.
It was only a matter of time before he started nodding off though, and he was dragging behind everyone. Pants noticed him falling back and slowed his pace to keep match. The blue rosette runner seemed to be much more energetic though, and the melanistic male wondered how he did it.
It was about that time that the group caught a sound not unlike animal calls. Erasmus looked around, thinking they had gone in a circle and was back at the greased livestock pens. Instead, his eyes fell on a pen full of critters, with a pair of gates for those to come and go to see the animals.
Suddenly the vay perked up. Could it be? Even the more competitive members of their party seemed intrigued. Erasmus never would have taken Solaris or Kirin for animal lovers, but perhaps even fiery tempered, competitive, hard headed reoseans had a soft side if you waited long enough to find it.
Kirin’s long ears had perked up as best as they could, giving her a loppy bunny look which was honestly super cute, not that he’d tell her. Instead he’d direct his attention to the real bunnies, and chicks and goats and more!
His energy returned to him in an instant, and he raced the others to get into the pens.

Walking the fairgrounds, competing in a variety of games and sampling snacks (some good, some well, let's just not talk about that one) had actually been fun for Kirin. She had stumbled into the carnival grounds by accident, and had expected to stay for maybe an hour or two fooling around, but here she was, actually enjoying herself and the company around her. Well, maybe except for the king of fireworks himself, but thankfully he had left, and their new companion wasn’t half bad.
Turning her head, She watched as Erasmus' head perked up at the call of distant animals, smirking as he dashed off. Quickly she caught up with him, her longer legs catching up with his strides, but slowed down as they entered the closed off area.
Usually animals were afraid of Vayrons, but these guys all seem domesticated and used to the predators wandering around. Not that they were brainless animals anyhow.
Ignoring the look that Solaris gave between her and the bunnies next to the pen, Kirin kneeled down, letting her head rest amongst the hay as she was entranced by the chicks and ducklings that waddled around chasing each other, parents not too far off.
“They're just so… so widdle!!!” She grinned, scaring off a few with her large teeth.

Solaris let out a loud bark like laugh as Kirin and Erasmus darted off at the sound of several animals. He was quietly betting with Pants that the friese would pass out soon from exhaustion. But it seemed hearing the petting zoo nearby would give the male newfound energy to go darting off. Solaris himself had already been to the petting zoo once with his pal Ahote earlier on so he wasn't as excited as his current company was but he always enjoyed some cute animals.
Following closely behind the denim colored runner they trekked to meet the others. The sight that followed amused Solaris and the rosette male. The female puller was laying on the ground covered in chicks, ducklings and other baby birds. On the other side of the zoo Erasmus was also laying on the ground with bunnies crawling all over his stomach.
“Have you guys found new friends?” The gold puller asked his new friends with a chuckle.
He turned his attention to the other side of the pen where Kirin was and spotted a large bull. It was covered in a thick orange fur that was so long Solaris couldn't even see its eyes. While the bull wasn't nearly as tall as himself it was still fairly large to a lot of the animals in this section of the zoo. He definitely went over to see if he was as soft as he looked, and it turned out he was. Maybe I could convince Lunar that we should get one of these. He thought to himself.

Erasmus though had to get up at some point when he found himself nodding off. Comfortable among the bunnies, he smiled at Solaris who seemed content to just watch them, and found Pants running around with a tiny jackalope. Absolutely adorable.
He had been enjoying their time together as well, and he was sad to think it might end soon. They were all from different areas, even though Pants shared Erasmus’ homeland, Kirin was from Thedale, and Solaris from Vitalus. The fair might be the only reason they ever met, and they might never find each other again. The thought made him sad.
He had won a few prizes through the fair, and while he was reluctant to part with all of them, he put his love into cuddles of some soft toys, and the tiniest bit of magic he had ever managed to work. A small flower necklace wrapped around each of the stuffed animals, and he handed them over to his friends.
“Let’s not forget each other.”
With that, he was content to end his day at the fair, glad he made new friends along the way.
