The demon hybrid snickered, Melan was only able to stare in disbelief.

It didn't make sense.

"I never said that," Discord repeated as he began to compose himself, he slowly went back to wiping down the bar's countertops. The angel hybrid furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and somewhat anger--perhaps more at herself now than her best friend. Surely, he wasn't playing a game or some sort of prank on her...but why couldn't he remember something from yesterday? Was she the mistaken one? It couldn't have been a memory from one of her dreams, she was sure of it.

She continued scowling, suddenly realizing that the redhead paid no mind to her troubled expression and that probably set her off even more. Of course, she didn't bring it up: the fact that her troubles rose no more questions from him.

Melan groaned.

But she couldn't let it go. And the unbothered demon didn't help.

Yes, maybe it was immature of her to grow frustrated over Discord not having the ability to sense her being irritated over something that was still bothering her.

But she couldn't let it go.

Melan angrily tapped on the dark wood of the countertop, demanding the boy's attention as he whirled around to face her again. "Yeah?" he muttered, a cloth still in the grasp of his right hand when he lifted it off the wooden surface.

Are you really sure? Melan signed to him with slightly rushed hand movements. Discord sighed, finally placing down his cleaning cloth.

"I'm sure, Melan. Look, we can go to the forest later to get your mind off of it-" he was cut off by the angel's repeated tapping, her white wings beat annoyedly against each other. But I swear it happened, she reaffirmed.

Discord sighed again.

"That never happened."
